Technicians are responsible for following written and oral instructions to perform a variety of assembly operations to assemble small parts into functioning knives. This role performs fittings and alignments to ensure free action of moveable parts. Once inspected, the Technician tests the knife to ensure functionality and performs minor troubleshooting of any problems. This includes meeting established production, quality, and performance metrics and communicating issues immediately to their lead or process technicians if an issue is to arise. Technicians may be assigned additional responsibilities, including support of engineering in process development, troubleshooting, validation, and training of fellow operators in skills and functions they've mastered. Must be able to build independently 65 knives/day, must meet stated takt times at collaborative, and at box must be able to process 430 knives/day. Entry level for laser engrave, serrate, sharpening, CBN, and buffing. Demonstrated proficiency with all mechanisms and ability to meet or exceed stated production goals and/or entry into one or more of the following programs - completion of the cleaning training and associated safety trainings, Laser Engrave training program, enrollment in Sharpening training program, displayed competency on at least 1 serrate machine and completion of required trainings. The Production Technician will be responsible for safely, reliably, and efficiently operating a cryogenic air separation plant in Hillsboro OR. In addition to routine operating, the role will include performing or facilitating maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs on plant equipment. Travel for installation and service (in the US and abroad) as required to service customers. Service and support for local customer base, as well. Plans assembly procedures, following blueprints and schematic drawings and specifications. Assembles equipment with bolts, welds, or other fastening devices to foundation or other structures. Installs moving parts, such as shafts, levers, or bearings, and works them to test proper movement. Bends and installs pipe for hydraulic systems. Aligns and meshes gears in gearbox to assemble system of gears using alignment & measurement tools to insure proper assembly tolerances. Performs welding and fabrication of pipe, structural, and tube construction. Tests or assists in testing operation of completed product. SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES This job may occasionally require supervisory responsibility of Assembly Tech I or Assembly Tech II positions if required to complete a job. Qualifications EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE Trade school program certificate; or two to four years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Additional Information Language skills: Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of the organization.
