The Experienced Mechanical Assemblers will be on a dynamic team, supporting our C5ISR system installations.Bring your expertise and collaborative skills to make an impact towards our military defense and safety of our Sailors.
SERCO supports the U.S Naval Ships with military and system installations. You will be part of a team that works closely with the customer and other Serco team members to deliver high technology performed onboard U.S. Naval Ships and military installations.
**In this role, you will:**
+ Follow blueprints, guidelines, and/or diagrams to fabricate and assemble various electromechanical and electronic assemblies.
+ Keep equipment operational by completing preventive maintenance requirements; following manufacturer's instructions and reporting malfunctions.
+ Perform work with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within field.
+ Rely on limited experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals.
+ Work on-board U.S. Naval Ships and military installations in an area that is somewhat uncomfortable due to drafts, noise, temperature variation
+ Work with equipment where carelessness would probably result in minor cuts, bruises, muscle strains, serious injury, or death.
**ABOUT OUR SSM WORK!**
To be successful in these roles, you will have:
+ High School Diploma or equivalent.
+ The ability to obtain and maintain a secret clearance.
+ The ability to obtain and gain access to shipyards (NAVSTA & DBIDS), undergo a background investigation, and pass a drug screening.
+ The ability to obtain an OSHA certification.
+ The ability to get respirator qualified and wear proper PPE throughout their work shift.
+ A minimum of 5 years of experience using power tools, assembling both large scale andintricate mechanical assemblies.
+ The ability to obtain a Firewatch and Cable Installer certification.
+ 5 years of Shipboard Experience.
+ 5 years of combined of experience in the following areas:
+ Read drawings (Beginner)
+ Drill holes, cut metal, shoot studs & use torque wrench (without supervision)

+ Ability to bolt/unbolt cableways, deck plates & equipment
+ Drill holes (with supervision)
+ Operate light machinery/ equipment
+ Position, join, align, wrap & seal pipe & conduit sections

+ The ability to work in high heat spaces, climb shipyard dry dock stairs/ladders, work in kneeling position for layout of cable runs under false decking, lift up to 50 pounds with 80% of work requiring carrying, pushing, and/or pulling up to 40 pounds for majority of shift while being in a standing, crouching, or walking position.
+ Attention to safety (which is critical)
+ The willingness to travel up to 10% to various work sites.

Purpose of the Position

Formative 3D is a 3D-printing startup on a mission to change the built environment. By leveraging large-format and FDM additive manufacturing, we're building modular, component-based systems that are sustainable and scalable. In this role, you'll be responsible for the hands-on tasks that bring our 3D printed furniture to life. From post-processing and assembly to packaging and general shop support. Responsibilities
* Perform post-processing of 3D printed parts, including hole drilling, sanding, and surface finishing, and post-processing.

* Package finished products securely and efficiently for shipping.
* Assist with general labor tasks such as material handling, shop organization, and equipment upkeep.
* Conduct quality checks to ensure parts meet visual and dimensional standards.
* Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment.
* Collaborate with team members to improve workflow and production efficiency.
Qualifications
* 1+ year of experience in a hands-on production, fabrication, or warehouse role
