Job Description:
The Department of Medical Microbiology and Immunology at the University of Toledo College of Medicine and Life Sciences is recruiting up to two (2) tenure-track faculty, at the rank of Assistant, Associate, or full Professor, as part of a major expansion of basic science, interdisciplinary, and translational research. We are seeking outstanding scientists who study highly-infectious pathogens, host-pathogen interactions, and/or vaccine/therapeutic development and require biosafety level 3 (BSL3) and animal BSL3 (A-BSL3) containment for these studies. Ideal candidates will study highly-infectious pathogens such as Mycobacterium tuberculosis, Coxiella burnetii, Yersinia pestis, Rickettsia sp., influenza virus, EEEV, SARS, MERS, West Nile virus, Hantavirus, Chikungunya, etc. The University is undergoing an exciting phase of research infrastructure expansion, including a $7M federal investment to renovate and expand the existing BSL3/A-BSL3 into 6 biocontainment suites, with shared equipment spaces and biocontainment entry/exit showers, for Select Agent, biodefense, and/or emerging infectious disease research. Top candidates will expand and complement the existing strengths of the microbiology and immunology faculty. Candidates are expected to contribute to the training and teaching of professional, postgraduate, and graduate learners, as well as provide institutional service. Candidates will join a highly-collaborative, multidisciplinary research community, and will be provided with newly renovated laboratory space along with generous start-up funds and competitive compensation packages. The University and College have numerous Centers of Excellence and core facilities to support research efforts, including the Advanced Microscopy and Imaging Center, Flow Cytometry Core, Microbiome Consortium, Electron Microscopy Core, Histology Core, and other integrated core facilities.

The Department of English seeks a dynamic teacher-writer with demonstrated excellence in teaching creative writing as well as literature and/or first-year writing courses at the college level. Faculty teach introductory classes in literature and writing in addition to courses in the areas of our specialization.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
As Director of Creative Writing, the successful candidate will be responsible for coordinating Detroit Mercy's creative writing curriculum and extracurricular opportunities; creating vibrant on- and off-campus programming; and providing mentorship for undergraduate creative writers.

JOB TITLE: Adjunct Faculty (Oxford High School) DEPARTMENT: Science and Mathematics COLLEGE: School of Natural and Behavioral Sciences REPORTS TO: Dean, School of Natural and Behavioral Sciences UNIVERSITY MISSION: Rochester Christian University prepares students for professional and personal success as they serve in God's world.
POSITION SUMMARY:
The Science and Mathematics Department is seeking applicants for adjunct faculty positions in mathematics. Classes are in-seat classes at Oxford High School as a part of RCU's Early College program. Required qualifications include a discipline-related master's degree or a master's degree and at least 18 graduate hours in the discipline. Candidates with terminal degrees and other specialized training are also highly desired.
Adjunct contracts are less than part-time and made on a semester-by-semester basis, but often result in recurring assignments within a regular course rotation. Adjunct openings often occur on short notice as additional sections of classes open based on enrollment numbers. Applications are always welcome.
The Science and Mathematics Department consists of five faculty members who share a vision to develop professionals that recognize the value of stewardship and care in God's world. Adjuncts are a significant part of our community and are invited to participate in department meetings, university activities, and mentorship initiatives.
A successful candidate must articulate a Christian worldview within the discipline and teaching practices and fully support the University's mission. Indicators of this support include a demonstrated personal faith in Jesus Christ and being active in a local church.
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
* Master's degree or higher in a relevant discipline
* Previous teaching experience is preferred; candidates willing to receive mentorship will be considered.
