Summary of Position:
This is an itinerant position providing orientation & mobility (O&M) instruction to visually impaired students, ages 3 through 21, throughout Chester County. The position requires the O&M Instructor to work with various students within Chester County school districts during their school hours.
Duties & Responsibilities:
Conduct assessment of student with visual impairment to evaluate their strengths and needs with respect to navigating their physical environment safely, including the needs to cane and other necessary equipment and technology.
Develop Orientation & Mobility (O&M) IEP goals, including goals related to public transport and community travel for the blind students.
Provide direct instruction in O&M based on the students' IEP goals.
Consult with school personnel to ensure supports and accommodations for students' safe travel throughout the school environments.
Consult with families so they can understand the students' specific strengths and need and can help support student's travel skills.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Orientation & Mobility reqiured
ACVREP Certification required
Current police and child abuse and FBI Fingerprints reqiured
Clearance as an MA provider by the Commonwealth of PA and federal government (conducted by CCIU upon hire.)
Salary (2026-2027 School Year):
Project, Level 16: $65,829.88/yr. - $82,287.54/yr.

The course may utilize materials from a test preparation company such as Kaplan and will be supplemented by American Association of Medical Colleges ( AAMC ) materials and direct instruction. The course will cover all four sections of the MCAT exam, with separate instructors teaching each of the three other sections. The instructor of record will coordinate the work of the other instructors and ensure that the course runs efficiently and effectively. The course will be offered in person in Camden, NJ. Two of the four topics on the MCAT will be addressed each class session, which will be held one afternoon a week. The other two topics will be taught the following week. The CARS instructor therefore will attend class once every other week. The instructor of record should expect to spend approximately 2 hours every other week instructing students, with additional time allotted for grading, office hours and various administrative duties related to oversight of the course.
