Qualifications
Candidate will have a BSCE, plus a minimum of six (6) years of public works experience or the equivalent of ten (10) years of total work experience. California PE Registration preferred.
Candidates for this position must demonstrate:
Independent thought and decision-making abilities
Possess management and supervisory skills
Be adept in establishing and maintaining strong and positive working relationships with clients and public agency personnel as well as in-house professional peers.
Candidate's experience must include the following:
Supervision of engineering designers (including daily assignments of work, review of work, and quality control)
Management of project schedules and budgets
Preparation of contracts, fee proposals, and scopes of work
Significant experience in client and public-agency interactions
Knowledge of jurisdictional codes, standards, and procedures in the State of CA and the region is strongly preferred.
Candidate's technical experience must include the following:
Public agencies, capital improvement projects, design-build projects, pipeline projects, preliminary engineering design studies (incorporating assessment and consideration of site constraints and potential regulatory issues)
Preparation/processing of public works, improvement plans and specifications
Development/preparation/processing of design-build documents for contractor clients and public agency owners.
Position generally requires extensive experience and demonstrated engineering abilities in all aspects of public works infrastructure projects and in interacting comfortably and productively with clients and public agencies.
