Salary Range: $81,348.48 - $107,302.32 / Annually Qualifications Required: + Must possess equivalent of a Master's degree in Nutrition or Public Health + Complete an A.N.D. internship + Certified registered dietician. + Able to set priorities, to recognize emergency situations and to take appropriate action. + Demonstrated ability to work independently with physician(s) and nurses and follow through with all assignments. + Demonstrated comprehensive knowledge of Celiac Disease, Inflammatory Bowel Disease, Irritable Bowel Syndrome and other digestive diseases. + Demonstrated in-depth knowledge and expertise in current concepts of medical nutritional management and practices in Celiac Disease, Inflammatory Bowel Disease, Irritable Bowel Syndrome and other digestive disorders. + Demonstrated experience in interviewing patients and participants of all age groups, in nutritional data collection and assessments, and in developing and working with patients with digestive disorders. + Demonstrated experience in individual and group nutritional counseling and education. Strong skills in assessing, designing, implementing, and evaluating the nutritional and educational needs of participants. + Demonstrated skill to communicate effectively with patients, families, physicians, nursing staff, front office, and department personnel, both orally and in writing. + Demonstrated ability to interact in a professional manner with a diverse patient population and with difficult situations presented by this diversity. + Demonstrated ability to maintain patient confidentiality. + Demonstrated ability to maintain medical charts and documentation. Develop a nutritional care plan for the patient throughout their care journey in the center. Provide educational classes for patients, evaluate inpatient nutrition, be a resource for patients, and assist in facilitating support groups. Registered Dietitian - Enhanced Behavioral Support Home Introduction The Registered Dietitian will take an active role in the development of a new, exciting, and specialized program for children with developmental disabilities and the employees who care for them. Role The role of the Registered Dietitian is to evaluate each resident's nutritional status and needs, and to provide recommendations and plans to individual behavior support team that will support the individual's health and well-being living in an enhanced behavior supports home. The Dietitian also provides nutritional, food preparation and sanitation training to staff along with management of the child nutrition program. Responsibilities · Assessment of each individual's nutritional needs within the consultant's area of expertise. · Participation in the transdisciplinary Individual Behavior Support Team's (IBST) development of an Individual Behavior Support Plan (IBSP) for each individual based on the assessment data. · The development of plans for IBSP objectives that are within the domain of the consultant's discipline and expertise. · The consultant shall request the hours deemed necessary for their area in the IBST implementation. · Consistent monitoring and evaluation of the delivery of services in the consultant's area to ensure that the program is being implemented properly and consistently. · In-service training to staff regarding the discipline, areas treated, program objectives, and special techniques of the area, with ongoing follow-up to ensure proper implementation. · Ongoing documentation of client progress and documentation in the client record, and in the online Transdisciplinary Clinical Notes; may cross-reference to a consultation report. · Document at least monthly progress reviews for each resident and menu reviews with residents. · Provide information required and recommendations to the facility's program design. · Participation in the facility's Continuous Quality Improvement System by submitting recommendations in writing. · The consultant shall be available to meet with the IBST monthly and as necessary when scheduled and attend special incident reviews if applicable to their domain. · The consultant shall be available for scheduled QA reviews from regional center and Department of Developmental Services semiannually. · All client assessments, recommendations, plans, and monitoring of progress will be provided in writing to the Administrator and documented in the individual's client record. · Other related functions within the consultant's area of expertise agreed to and requested from the Administrator or QBMP for client welfare. The Health & Nutrition Specialist is responsible for leading the planning, implementation, monitoring, and continuous improvement of comprehensive health, oral health, mental health coordination, and nutrition services for children and families enrolled in the Head Start and Early Head Start program. This role ensures full compliance with Head Start Program Performance Standards (45 CFR §1302 Subpart D), Office of Child Care regulations, state licensing requirements, and organizational policies. The Specialist works collaboratively with education, family services, disabilities, and operations teams to ensure children are healthy, safe, nutritionally supported, and ready to learn. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Responsibilities: The Health & Nutrition Specialist will ultimately be evaluated on a combination of skills, dispositions and behaviors, some of which are related to the specific service area of this position and others that represent general expectations of all our program employees. The Registered Dietitian II will provide and document dietary assessments, counseling, and treatment plans for metabolic genetics patients seen in both the clinic and inpatient settings at UCLA Ronald Reagan. The role includes remaining on-call for the inpatient metabolic service during assigned call periods and collaborating with family members and community representatives to encourage adherence to medically necessary diets. The Registered Dietitian II will work closely with and communicate regularly with other members of the care team, including physicians, nurses, genetic counselors, social workers, and other staff, to ensure coordinated and comprehensive care. In addition, the Registered Dietitian II will assist with management of the inpatient metabolic formulary and support system-wide changes to pharmacy and nutrition policies. Responsibilities also include assisting with obtaining necessary insurance authorizations, helping manage metabolic Newborn Screening cases, and participating in metabolic research initiatives, including the Urea Cycle Longitudinal Study.
