Seeking a skilled speech-language pathologist who can provide adult outpatient services in our Westwood speech clinic. There may also be opportunities for additional outpatient adult work at our Santa Monica clinic location. Must have some weekday availability for initial training/onboarding. Candidates should have experience evaluating and treating adults with a variety of speech-language, voice, and swallowing disorders. Applicants should have experience working with a variety of diagnoses, including but not limited to, aphasia, dysarthria, apraxia, dysphonia, and dysphagia. Experience performing Modified Barium Swallow Studies is preferred.
Salary range: 71.72-87.63 hourly

OVERVIEW OF POSITION: Provides discipline-specific treatment for children with autism spectrum disorders (ASD), including evaluation, planning, documentation and professional communication. Develops and monitors individualized goals and plans as identified in the Individualized Treatment Plan (ITP) in conjunction with other programs, as needed.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTION:
Evaluates children referred for speech-language therapy using established evaluation procedures and standardized assessments. Using independent discretion and judgment develops individualized speech-language therapy treatment, plans and goals.
Partners with interdisciplinary team to provide discipline-specific consultation. Develops and provide coaching for family members and/or child to incorporate new skills and/or techniques into normal routines and activities at home. Works with caregivers to implement a home program that achieves speech-language therapy goals. Instructs family members and/or child in the proper and safe usage of adaptive equipment and assistive technology. Assists in the coordination of services and makes appropriate referrals as needed.
Completes necessary documentation including evaluations, treatment notes, progress reports, and exit summaries, and keeps updated with current medical reports and other site-related documents on each child.
Remains current regarding new research, current trends and developments in autism, special education and related fields.
Attends and assists with staff meetings, in-services, and other meetings as requested, regarding speech-language therapy across program service divisions.
Performs other duties as assigned.
EDUCATION:
Master's degree in speech-language pathology.|Current speech-language pathologist license issued by the state of California.|Current American Speech Language Hearing Association (ASHA) certification.|Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP).|Must have and maintain a current CPR certification card.

1 year of consulting experience working with infant/young children with developmental delays including autism.

Responsibilities
Under the direct supervision of a licensed Speech Language Pathologist (SLP), implements discipline-specific treatment for children diagnosed with autism and other special needs. This includes, but is not limited to planning, documentation and professional communication. In addition to:
Provides direct treatment assistance to patients or clients under the supervision of a SLP.
Follows and implements documented treatment plans or protocols developed by a supervising SLP.
Maintains productivity goals each week/month by completing all scheduled therapy sessions; provides make-up sessions as available.
Contributes to the preparation of re-evaluations, progress reports and discharge summaries with the supervising SLP; Completes daily intervention reports and calendar updates, while meeting required deadlines.
Promotes best practices and ensures patients and families receive the highest quality of therapy. Collaborates and consults with other service providers as necessary.
Assists in goal-setting and modification throughout the intervention process in collaboration with supervising SLP, clients, and family/caregiver(s)/legal guardian(s).
Conducts speech and language screening, without interpretation, and uses screening protocols developed by the SLP.
Completes checks and maintenance of equipment including, but not limited to, augmentative communication devices.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
AA Degree from accredited Speech Language Pathology Assistant program or Bachelor's Degree in Speech Language Pathology or Communications Disorders, or a combination of training, educations and experience to perform the job successfully.
1-2 years' experience working with clients with Autism Spectrum Disorders.
Possess current licensure from the state Board of Speech Language Pathology and Audiology and Hearing Aid Dispensers and maintain good standing.
Knowledgeable of evidence based practices found to benefit children with Autism.
Demonstrated knowledge in speech language therapy, transdisciplinary early-intervention theories, and rehabilitation principles and practice.
Demonstrated proficiency with MS Office Applications (Outlook, Word, Excel) and Electronic Medical Records (EMR).
Good interpersonal skills; Good written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to pass post-offer medical examination and test for tuberculosis. Ability to provide proof of Measles, Pertussis, and Flu vaccines or doctor exemption for immunizations.
Ability to stand for extended periods. Ability to lift 40 pounds continuously. Ability to reach, bend, stoop and squat. Possess fine manual dexterity; able to push, pull
Ability to obtain and maintain a criminal record/fingerprint clearance from the Department of Justice and Federal Bureau of Investigation per Easterseals Southern California and/or program requirements.
