    Performs entry-level duties in the production machine shop such as the handling and preparation of materials for machining, maintaining workflow, and performing other tasks as assigned. Supports Production Machinists by performing material handling duties. Supports Production Machinists by pre-processing material for machining such as removing/installing bushings and other entry-level preparatory processes. Assists in the maintaining of machines, equipment, and performing preventative maintenance activities as directed. Assists in the setup and adjustments of machines or methods when directed. Assists in operating machines or equipment under direct supervision. Assists in handling and evaluation of scrap to verify yields. Contributes to the housekeeping and 5s activity in the area. This role will be onsite 5 days a week at our Plymouth, MI location Responsibilities Review assigned Jira tickets to determine material, tooling, fixturing requirements with autonomy. Ability to sort through tasks using the Critical Path Method to complete assigned machining requests in the most optimal order to meet deadlines and increase machine uptime. Discuss with engineering teams the issues related to manufacturability or timing, provide Design for Manufacturing (DFM) feedback, modify in CAD submitted parts as discussed to ensure successful completion of task. Ability to quickly summarize part requirements, apply roughing toolpaths and get machine running in as little time as possible (often Control and Setup of high end multi-axis machining centers. Understand speeds/feeds, depth of cuts and all other tool cutting parameters for wide variety of materials, and the ability to apply these quickly to process jobs with a minimum of delay. Participate in team/ peer discussions with suggestions on how to process the more complicated jobs, including fixturing and tooling requirements. Quick setup of mission critical parts which could disrupt company production schedules, and prevent excessive costs incurred by outside vendors. Review large quantity jobs to optimize program toolpaths, speeds, and feeds to reduce overall processing time Perform inspection tasks to ensure part conforms to required critical dimensions and specifications utilizing advanced GD&T and engineering drawing reading abilities, using standard measurement equipment (verniers, calipers, micrometers, bore gauges, gauge pins, height gauges) Utilize 3D Scanning Equipment and corresponding software (Polyworks) for full virtual inspection of machined parts. Machine maintenance including monitor filters, oil and grease levels, machine calibration and adjustment Qualifications 10+ years experience in fabrication, welding and manual machining Ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and G-code.     Job Description Job Summary: Responsible for programming of the CNC machine. Required Education and Experience: High school diploma or general education degree (GED) and five years experience in the automotive industry, or equivalent combination of education and experience Must have excellent communication, problem solving, organization, time management, and decision making skills Must be able to work independently, multi-task, and prioritize Tool and Die Journeyman's Card Computer proficiency, including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint), Mastercam, and KeyCreator Knowledge of Customer Specific Requirements Knowledge of ISO 9001/IATF 16949 Essential Functions: Prepare all programming for CNC and laser from final die designs Act as a liaison between Engineering Department and CNC department Act as a liaison between Tooling Department and CNC department Track and resolve issues brought forward from tool room Report all scheduling concerns to Tooling Manager Record daily job numbers and hours in eMaintenance Perform all duties required in order to accommodate the customer Report any deficiencies in systems, facilities, machinery, equipment, and/or tools immediately to Tooling Manager Record and/or report product damage/nonconformities to Tooling Manager as required Participate and contribute to effective production efficiency Any other duties or responsibilities assigned by the Tooling Manager Abide by all Company polices including, but not limited to the following: Health and Safety, Quality and Environmental Systems, Human Resources policies, and the Martinrea Employee Handbook Language Skills: Ability to read, analyse, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public. Mathematical Skills: Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of planes and solid geometry and trigonometry. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations. Reasoning Ability: Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
