We are currently hiring a MaterialHandler/ In-Town Route Driver to work in our West Fargo, ND location. This position is best suited for an organized, responsible, self-motivated and detail-oriented individual who is looking for a career within a well-established company.
This position will be 70-75% in the warehouse as a MaterialHandler and 25-30% In-Town Driver role. The position is from 7am-3pm daily and is also utilized as a Relief Driver for our other drivers while they are on PTO. The Relief Driver Routes start at 5am.
WHAT DOES THIS POSITION DO?
The main responsibilities for this role include:
Check and confirm dispatch orders and materials for delivery.
Load for orderly dispatch.
Operate truck to pick up and deliver products, materials, supplies, equipment, etc.
Pick up items for return with proper paperwork.
Obtain appropriate signatures on shipping slips and sign for materials picked up.
Pull tickets and pick orders.
Load orders
Maintain clean work area.
Put stock away.
Checks returns.
Uses scanners to check stock items and locate inventory discrepancies.
WHAT IS REQUIRED?
This position is best suited for an individual with:
High school diploma or general education degree (GED); and at least one year of verifiable delivery driving experience.
Class B license required.
Medical Certificate Required.
Good driving record required. Applicants must also meet the Department of Transportation (DOT) requirements.
Good understanding of traffic rules and regulations; roads, freeways and local layout. Ability to use hand truck, forklift, dolly, pallet jack, etc.

WHAT DOES THIS POSITION DO?
The main Warehouse responsibilities for this role include:
Select and count materials in accordance to the shipping slip.
Stage and tag orders selected.
Deliver materials to the will call or shipping areas.
Assist customers and/or drivers in loading materials into vehicles and/or trucks.
Unload and stock incoming materials. Check and put stock away in appropriate warehouse locations.
Responsible for receiving and check-in of raw materials, purchased stock and finished items, equipment, supplies and returned goods.
Manually receive and ship out UPS, Fed Ex ground, DHL and Federal Express merchandise. Process all appropriate paperwork.
Check received goods against packing slips and purchase orders to verify product identification, type, part, dimension, size, weight, and general quality.

Make labels for non-stock and special items.
Pick will-call / Auer truck orders.
Pick over the counter orders.
Stage orders/Restock Returns/Stock Shelves
Assist customers & truck drivers with loading orders.
In an ideal situation, the individual in this role would also operate as a relief driver. Delivery responsibilities include:

WHAT IS REQUIRED?

Perform all material handling functions related to shipping and warehousing, including truck loading, material receiving, storage and supply of filling lines with packaging components

Summary - The MaterialHandler Trainee will be responsible for learning the safe operation of material handling equipment, the transporting of various materials and containers that will be in a variety of sizes, shapes, weights, conditions and degree of difficulty for transporting. Milwaukee Valve Company is looking for a 2nd Shift MaterialHandler Trainee to join our Prairie Du Sac, WI team in Department 530. This position has a starting hourly wage of $19.78, plus an additional 3.5% shift premium.
*This position is eligible for a $2,000 sign-on bonus. The first half ($1,000) is payable after successful completion of the orientation period and the second half ($1,000) is payable after one year of employment.*
The regularly scheduled hours for this position are 2:30PM-11:00PM, Monday through Friday. Overtime may become a possibility or even required. When working overtime, the regularly scheduled shift is adjusted by 1-2 hours at either the beginning or end of the regularly scheduled shift. Overtime may also be requested or mandatory on Saturday as well.

Summary - The MaterialHandler Trainee will be responsible for learning the safe operation of material handling equipment, the transporting of various materials and containers that will be in a variety of sizes, shapes, weights, conditions and degree of difficulty for transporting. Individual will demonstrate accuracy in work and record keeping. Other primary responsibilities may include but not limited to the operation of: Parts Washers, Chip Processing, Production Saw, Floor Scrubber/Sweeper and other processing equipment. Use of mobile stairs, scales, hoist and working at heights may be required.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities to which competency will be measured include the following and are required for possible advancement:
Demonstrates safe operation of material handling equipment.

Education and/or Experience - High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
Language Skills - Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. The ability to communicate effectively.
Mathematical Skills - Basic addition, subtraction, multiplication and division.
Reasoning Ability - Ability to understand and carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. The ability to deal with problems that arise in standard situations.

In this role you will focus on:
Responsibilities:
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
* Unload common carrier trucks and railroad cars and replenish product in the designated location in the warehouse.
* Pick orders using a forklift until the order is completely filled.
* Report any problems such as shortages or damaged material, etc.
* Inquire with sales team member when orders cannot be shipped as ordered and make changes as directed by sales.
* Use handheld scanner when receiving product, picking orders, loading trucks and cycle counting in accordance with Warehouse Management System (WMS) processes.
* Collaborate with Warehouse Management System (WMS) Coordinator on questions and updates.
* Band, wrap and prepare material for safe shipping.
* Arrange orders on trucks according to safe weight distribution practices.
* Follow safety procedures and policies when performing warehouse duties.
Performance of Miscellaneous Functions
* Fill orders for incoming customers.
* Perform routine maintenance work such as cleaning warehouses/yard.
* Inspect the forklift prior to daily operation to avoid equipment problems and malfunctions in accordance with OSHA regulations.
* Cross train and back-up others in warehouse.
