The primary responsibility of this position is to perform all duties associated with shipping, receiving, and stocking warehouse material. This role is a full-time, Monday through Friday position, with no nights or weekends! In this role, you'll handle a variety of materials, including frames, doors, and hardware, prepping them for shipment and loading them onto LaForce trucks or other carriers. You'll use forklifts and other dock equipment to move products efficiently, ensuring everything is loaded and unloaded with care. This position is physically demanding as you will spend roughly 60% of your time on the forklift, and 40% of your time on your feet. As a Material Handler, you'll also manage incoming deliveries, store materials in designated areas, and keep accurate records in our warehouse scanning system. What You'll Bring to the Team: We're looking for someone who is willing to jump right in - ideally, with a high school diploma or GED, and some experience in material handling. You should feel comfortable lifting up to 50 pounds, standing and moving frequently throughout your shift, and operating warehouse equipment safely. A driver's license is preferred, and you'll need to pass a drug screen, physical, and background check. Use judgment in resolving issues or recommending solutions. May participate in project teams or lead portions of projects. Has a thorough knowledge of the basic principles, practices and processes in the applicable discipline and has a working knowledge of related fields. Provides resolutions from basic to moderately complex problems. Exercises judgment within procedures and practices in selecting methods and techniques for arriving at solutions. Contacts are typically with the supervisor and other members of the team or immediate organization but may be outside of this to complete the assignment. May represent the team on projects and interface with business partners. Impacts of errors normally have implications requiring additional resources. Contributes to improving processes, lead times, through-put, and cost. Requirements: Material Handler I Ability to operate or learn to operate material handling equipment. Material Handler II Material Handler I requirements 1-2 years of experience Must be effectively cross trained in multiple operations. Ability to use advanced troubleshooting within the materials environment. Ability to train other employees in established processes. Problem solving skills and interfacing with other departments. Strong communication skills. Physical Demands: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear; and use hands to manipulate objects or controls. The employee is regularly required to stand and walk. On occasion the incumbent may be required to stoop, bend or reach above the shoulders. The employee must occasionally lift up to 25 - 50 pounds.
