The American Lung Association has an excellent opportunity for a Development Intern. Alongside members of the Development team, you will join an outstanding group of professionals dedicated to our mission: to save lives by improving lung health and preventing lung disease through research, education, and advocacy.
The intern will assist the American Lung Association Development staff to create and execute a marketing and social media campaign and support event planning activities to gain experience in the field of marketing and communications, public relations, and non-profit management.
This is an unpaid internship position requiring a minimum time commitment of 8 hours per week (flexible schedule) and must be eligible for course credit or fulfill an internship graduation requirement. This position is for Spring 2026 and must be completed by May 15, 2026.
Location: This is a remote position, and we encourage any candidate in any location in the United States to apply.
PROJECTS
This is a great opportunity for the intern to enhance their skills in organization, multi-tasking and communications. The intern can expect to develop confidence and marketable skills by engaging in or assisting with many of the following activities:

This role is responsible for identifying and qualifying strategic relationships that support MiracleFeet's growth objectives. The Development Associate will research and engage prospective donors, partners, and stakeholders aligned with MiracleFeet's mission. They will collaborate closely with the executive leadership team and the communications and marketing team to facilitate opportunities that advance organizational priorities. This position is part time with potential to move into a full time role in the future.
Essential Functions:
Prospect Identification and Qualification
Conduct outbound prospecting to connect MiracleFeet with mission-aligned individuals, corporations, and foundations.
Use digital tools and social media (LinkedIn, Instagram, Bluesky, Facebook) to build a strong pipeline of potential supporters.
Qualify leads based on alignment, past giving, interest, and readiness.
Schedule discovery meetings for senior team members; this role does not attend donor meetings directly.
Demand Generation
Collaborate with communications and marketing to amplify MiracleFeet's story.
Identify key markets for paid and organic content placement.
Drive awareness and engagement around MiracleFeet's mission and impact.
Strategic Relationship Facilitation
Work with the executive team to identify and pursue connections with high-net-worth individuals, foundations, and corporations.

This is a unique opportunity for a results-oriented relationship manager with 1-2 years of development experience to make a significant impact at The Family Place. This position is an integral part of the development team, guiding the stewardship of individual donors. The successful candidate will be a member of a dynamic, fast-paced and supportive team, with an ability to manage shifting priorities. Reporting to the Chief Advancement Officer, the Development Associate, Stewardship, will manage relationships with donors through meaningful outreach strategies with a focus on retention and cultivation. The successful candidate will work across the Development team to deepen donor engagement through creative communications and timely responses with a detail-oriented approach.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
Coordinate with Chief Advancement Officer and development team to plan, direct and support significant donor stewardship efforts with a focus on individual donors.
Maintain and build strong and lasting relationships with donors through strategic and meaningful points of contact.
Manage acknowledgement letters for donations in a timely manner.
Compile relevant, timely updates/stewardship reports to share with key constituents.
Coordinate with development team on donor outreach, revenue tracking and engagement within the assigned stewardship portfolio.
Perform administrative activities including, but not limited to, stewardship and solicitation mailings, curated communications, update donor and prospect records, track and record action items and update notes in Raiser's Edge.
Contribute to a collaborative team working environment and have a positive roll-up-your sleeves attitude.
Qualifications
Qualifications & Skills:
Bachelor's degree
1-2 years of similar relationship management experience.
Must know or have experience with Raiser's Edge.
Attention to detail is a vital component of this position.
Have strong communication skills and embrace social engagement.
Be able to work independently while contributing to the team.
Must have an inquisitive nature to foster relationships across multiple departments of the agency and with donors.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Excellent Microsoft Office skills.

This position will help assist the Horticulture team with landscape maintenance throughout the 42-acre sculpture garden.
Duties and Responsibilities
