The Mechanic supports the safe and efficient operation of the County's Highway Department by maintaining and repairing a wide range of vehicles, heavy construction equipment, small engines and tools. Thoroughly cleans machines and machine parts, removing and reinstalling them as necessary. Records and reports of damaged, worn, or broken parts Identifies the causes of unexpected breakdowns of machines Prepares reports documenting work performed Makes necessary modifications and implements test runs; confers with engineers regarding test results and makes additional alterations to machinery as required Model a culture of safety by following all safety protocols Support the execution of manufacturing processes, ensuring alignment with industry and R.
