This will be a third shift (Sunday-Thursday 10:30pm-7:00am) position at our Racine facility (8635 Washington Avenue, Mt Pleasant, WI). This role will start at $20+ hourly.
The Assembler II is responsible for assembling parts according to specified Work Instructions. This position may be required to rotate throughout the facility in a variety of assembly tasks.

Assemble components with precision and care
Ensure quality standards are met every step of the way

Use basic printing programs to complete customer orders when required for a specific job and make adjustments when needed on your own.
Use Production system to record day-to-day customer order activity, view work instructions and report completed work.

Education and Experience:
High School Degree/GED Preferred

What You Will Contribute:
The Assembler III is responsible for assembling parts according to specified work instructions and/or drawings and exhibits the ability to effectively complete critical component assemblies. This position may be required to rotate throughout the facility in a variety of assembly tasks. This position will read detailed instructions and will be responsible to ensure products are created efficiently and correctly. This role is 1st shift 7:30am-4pm.
Job Duties:
Assemble electronic components, subassemblies, or complete products following work orders, production drawings, sample assemblies, or verbal instructions
Position and align parts using jigs, fixtures, or other holding devices to ensure accurate assembly
Use hand tools, power tools, and equipment to secure parts using crimping, screwing, bolting, riveting, soldering, cementing, or press-fitting techniques
Mount assembled components (e.g., circuit boards) into chassis or enclosures
Connect wires to circuit boards, terminals, and other components using soldering or crimping methods
Install completed subassemblies or finished products into cases and cabinets
Prepare and organize materials into kits for inventory, shipping, or field installation
Participate and Contribute to Safety, Quality, Delivery and Cost efforts. Implement continuous improvement actions.
Perform and implement 5S and Lean concepts to ensure a clean, safe, and efficient workplace.
Communicate effectively with intra-departmental team members such as manufacturing engineer, sales, purchasing and others as needed.

Education and Experience:

Job Purpose:
The Field Service Technician III as a key member of our field service team is responsible for assisting in the assembly, installation, maintenance, and repair of transformers and other related equipment. Maintaining safety is the top priority. This role requires assistant with training and mentoring less experienced technicians.
This position requires working outdoors in all weather conditions. Occasionally work is performed near moving mechanical parts, at heights, hazardous places and is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, temperature extremes, fumes, traffic, potential electrical shock hazards, noise pollution, and vibration.
Responsibilities
Leader in Safety Culture.
Adhere to all company safety policies and procedures, including the use of personal protection equipment (PPE).
Participate in safety training programs and meetings.
Perform basic testing as a crew lead on transformer installation, maintenance and emergency work.
Ability to install, test and maintain electrical apparatus including transformer theory of operation knowledge.
Skilled in troubleshooting, problem solving during inspections and apparatus testing.
Understand the theory behind and reason for testing with the ability to analyze results.
Creating plans for testing apparatus.
Thorough knowledge as a practical operator of the oil vacuum processing rig and top off transformers.
Administrative duties as assigned (inspections, job brief, and work order system).

Qualifications
Required:
Must have 5 or more years of industry experience.

Badger Meter is looking for a 1st shift Assembler in our Milwaukee Plant. This person will work in a clean, air-conditioned facility. We are willing to train for the right person!
This position is responsible for overall assembly process. General duties include building, assembling, testing, injection molding and packaging a variety of meters or meter reading technology products. You will be responsible for performing the various job functions as described below at an acceptable level of efficiency and quality. The work is completed through manual assembly, utilization of various specialty pieces of equipment, or automated machinery. Employees regularly rotate through various workstations within their home department and occasionally work in other areas of the facility depending on workload and customer orders. Responsible for observing safe work habits and maintaining cleanliness of work area
Major Job Duties/Accountability:
Perform a variety of operations such as assembly of meters, leak testing, meter testing, and packaging of meter products while following safety guidelines
Assemble products, following work instructions ensuring the highest quality products, meeting company product standards, production goals, and customer specifications and delivery requirements
Set up and operate meter accuracy and leak test equipment to determine acceptability of product
Operate computer to check schedules, obtain part drawings, set up work procedures and update manufacturing status of jobs
Work from dispatch lists or production schedules to obtain required daily output
Perform a variety of tasks such as operation of plastic injection molding machines and perform secondary operations to molded parts such as degating, sprue removal and drilling
May operate and tend to multiple machines simultaneously
Follow work instructions ensuring the highest quality products, meeting company product standards, production goals, and customer specifications and delivery requirements
Check parts visually and with the use of inspection tools, gauges, and coordinate measuring machines to ensure parts meet specified quality standards
Perform part counts and/or scale counts and prepare identification tickets for outgoing materials
Load, unload and debur parts
Qualifications:
1+ years of experience
High School degree preferred
Basic computer skills
Ability to pass internal forklift and hazmat training if applicable
Ability to work independently with little supervision
Maintains open communication and positive working relationships with staff
Basic math skills
Ability to read, write and speak English

Working Conditions:
Work is performed in a manufacturing environment.
Must be able to wear personal protective gear most of the day.
Must be able to lift up to 60 pounds.
This position requires good manual dexterity, coordination and stamina.
Must be able to stand or walk for prolonged periods of time.
Must be able to pass an audiogram test.
