The Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP is a licensed independent practitioner. The FNP assesses patient health by interviewing patients; performing physical examinations; obtaining, updating, and studying medical histories. He/she determines abnormal conditions by administering or ordering diagnostic tests, such as x-rays, electrocardiograms, and laboratory studies; interpreting test results.
Frequent communication outside of the work group is required to resolve disagreements, reach agreements and clarify issues/processes. Responsibility exists to ensure that internal customers are satisfied with service. Communicates with external contacts frequently and is responsible to ensure ongoing service.
Required Education: Masters degree from an accredited nurse practitioner program
