The Surgery SchedulingCoordinator is responsible for scheduling patients for surgical services procedures within the Baptist Health Care system. This position adheres to and ensures all of Baptist's surgical guidelines are followed when scheduling surgery cases. This position is responsible for providing excellent customer service to patients, physicians' office staff, physicians and ancillary service departments. This position coordinates with the insurance verification and precertification team and other related patient access teams.
Minimum Education

Proficient in scheduling outpatient diagnostic services in coordination with the surgical case.
Proactively works with surgeons' offices to fill any open times in the surgery schedule, reorganizing the schedule to accommodate office or department needs when possible.
Maintains Baptist Health Care goals of scheduling, registration accuracy, pre-registration, and other healthcare industry standards or trends in which metrics of success are based.
Coordinates between scheduling team, anesthesia services, related departmental personnel and device vendors for scheduling of specific complex services (Open Hearts, Total Joints, L&D).
Obtains accurate demographic and reimbursement related information and enters it into the applicable computer system.
Understands all regulatory agency requirements (i.e. Joint Commission, HIPPA, EMTALA, OIG, and CMS, etc.) as it relates to software under Corporate Scheduling management.

The Patient Access Liaison (PAL) is a regional, field-based position that provides clinical disease state education and product education to patients and their families for our rare disease portfolio of products, oftentimes in the patient's home. Provide education to patients and or their families on reimbursement and insurance protocols that affect their ability to access therapy
Coordinate communication among key stakeholders to ensure patients have the clinical support required to transition successfully to therapy
Advise patients and their families about access and affordability programs that may be available to them
Work cross functionally with other commercial personnel to resolve access issues for patients
Provide expertise to HCPs on health plan policies and procedures, including guidelines and timelines for Prior Approvals (when appropriate) and Appeals

Attend regional and national meetings and come prepared to contribute and participate

The Access Specialist serves as the single point of contact for online patient scheduling. This position is responsible for receiving all incoming phone calls, web requests, and working with referral sources. This position follows through with completing the appointment, working insurance verification, and any necessary inquires with the appropriate clinical team. The patient needs will be initiated by order placement. This position will maximize patient experience and operational workflow. This position will work directly with patient access leadership. In order to ensure superior service and appropriate patient care, all pre-appointment requirements including scheduling, authorization, price estimation, financial counseling and pre-registration will be coordinated by this position.
Minimum Education
