Responsibilities Performs CT-Sim procedures and documents accurately. Executes simulations in accordance with department policies and procedures. Prepares room and equipment properly for each simulation and monitors patient. Performs complex special procedures (4D CT Respiratory Gating, HDR, TBI, SRS, SBRT, Oral and IV Contrast, Urethrogram) and monitors patient for adverse reactions and quickly seeks assistance of a nurse or physician, when appropriate.Manages patient scheduling in a technical area including simulations, field verifications, daily treatments, and cone-downs to avoid delays or interruptions.May act as a Preceptor to Radiation Therapist level 1. Sets up and adjusts interventional radiology equipment per radiologist protocol for exam. Relies on extensive knowledge of anatomy and physiology to obtain the maximum diagnostic image corresponding to body parts. Receives and reviews requests for radiologic studies. Accepts patients and assesses their condition to determine proper handling and special requirements. Explains and prepares the patient for all procedures. Possesses and utilizes proper sterile technique and isolation procedures when appropriate. Assists in the administration and administers various medications under the direction of a physician to render specific organs or systems more opaque. Performs all responsibilities / duties required by the department to perform examinations Quality controls all images, maintains inventory, and adheres to safety regulations. Participates in training of department personnel, including students. Performs various clerical duties. Must be available for on call status, as needed, after normal operating hours. Maintains current knowledge/certification/licensure. Required to meet and maintain the necessary educational and certification requirements defined by the stroke program. Assist in other duties as assigned to support the operational needs of the department and organization. May be required to remain on campus immediately before, during, and after severe weather and/or disasters.
