Job Description:
* Shift: Monday-Friday 8am-4:30pm, every 4th weekend, may vary based on business needs.
* Schedule: Full Time Remote, Applicant must live within a 50-mile radius or be a current employee within an AdvenHealth region.
* Monitor admissions and perform initial and continued stay medical necessity reviews.
* Maintain thorough knowledge of payer guidelines and regulatory requirements and manages concurrent and pre-bill denials to prevent loss of reimbursement.
* Collaborate and communicate with the multidisciplinary care team regarding patient status and concurrent denials.
* Build relationships to promote interdisciplinary collaboration.
* Ensure requested clinical information is communicated, monitors daily discharge reports, and follows up with insurance carriers to obtain complete authorization.

As a stroke-certified unit, the 4200 Telemetry Unit also focuses on delivering evidence-based, patient-centered care to optimize recovery and enhance long-term outcomes. This position provides assistance and/or performs basic activities of daily living and specified treatments and procedures under the direct supervision of the nurse. This position may perform non-direct patient care activities as assigned, requested, or directed. This position also performs clerical duties as assigned. Must have the interpersonal skill to communicate with respect and compassion to customers. This position also communicates information through various telecommunication devices and assists in coordinating patient flow.
Job Requirements:
High School Diploma
Basic Life Support (BLS)
Completion of first nursing clinical rotation/semester
Reading and math ability appropriate to the position. Multi-line phone skills, familiar with patient call systems and pagers. Previous experience with computer operation.
Student Nurse (LPN or RN)
Job Responsibilities:
Performs and documents basic patient care tasks under the direct supervision of an RN. Maintains competency of tasks in which the Student ACT has been trained. Completes assigned tasks within required timeframe. Seeks clarification from the nurse when in doubt about how to proceed. Serves as a role model to other ACTs for basic patient care competencies and tasks. Completes advanced ACT tasks as delegated within scope and state laws.
Maintains a safe environment. Reports safety hazards to appropriate personnel. Completes safety event report as necessary. Complies with Infection Control policies. Demonstrates knowledge of safety/emergency policies and procedures and appropriately corrects any identified hazards.
Communicates effectively with others. Shows respect to patients, families and co-workers. Reports patient related information in a timely manner. Reports problems in completing assignment/tasks in a timely manner to the appropriate person. Documents observations and tasks performed. Works in collaboration with all members of the health care team. Utilizes chain of command appropriately.
Performs supply, equipment, and environmental-related activities as required, and described in principal accountabilities. Recognizes, reports, and follows-up on issues with supply/equipment availability in a timely manner. Reports and follows through as per unit standard concerning equipment that is broken or malfunctioning. Assures equipment/supplies are readily available for use by next person.
Acknowledges need for self growth and accountability. Identifies area for self improvement. Demonstrates/maintains knowledge of organizational and unit changes. Supports organizational and unit changes.
Maintains the medical record. Documents accurately in the medical record as per unit/TriHealth guidelines. Performs computer downtime procedures according to unit/TriHealth guidelines. Maintains proficient knowledge of computer applications specific to their unit/job. Provides other clerical support to unit as needed and directed by charge nurse or manager.
