Technologist will have on call responsibilities for backup call coverage in Xray/CT on weeknights and weekends to provide support if volumes are high, as we are 24 hour staffed Critical Access Hospital. Backup call rotation is split evenly amongst 12 technologists during the weeknights and weekends. Qualifications: Performs duties directly related to a variety of radiological technical procedures. Utilizes skills, experience, and equipment while assisting physicians in the diagnosis and treatment of patients. We be required to work in all Xray, Surgery, and CT modalities. Graduate from an accredited Radiology Technology program in an approved facility. ARRT (R) and Nebraska State imaging technologist License. Mammography and MRI experience is welcomed. Valid Driver's License, current CPR/BLS. Starts and completes examination in ADS workflow, checks-in breast ultrasound and includes complete and accurate notes to the Sonographer. Evaluates Mammographic images for technical quality, repeats images as necessary and verifies images in PACS. Performs required post processing and/or transfers appropriate images to dedicated workstations. Ensures prior exams and reports are available for comparison. Provides correct forms/documentation and concise relevant history to the Radiologist for interpretation. Selects correct patient and updates necessary clinical history. Enters pertinent notes relating to present exam and indicates the reason for exam/location of concern. Resolves prior examinations accurately. Indicates when shielding was utilized. Consistently indicates in Magview that infection control was completed prior to the start of the exam. Keeps work area, waiting rooms and dressing rooms clean and tidy and stocks work area with laundry and medical supplies on a daily basis. Maintains Mammography, Stereotactic and/or Bone Density Department standards and updates all necessary logs. Initiates equipment service requests and notifies supervisor as necessary. Actively participates in Time Out procedures required for certain exams. Able to perform tests per ACR requirements and reboot/shutdown systems per manufacturer guidelines. Provides radiological services by exemplifying the knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform a variety of radiographic procedures utilizing ionizing radiation for radiographic diagnosis. Assesses the patient determining their ability to comply with the physical requirements of the examination to minimize patient or examination problems. Enters proper technical parameters into the x-ray generating equipment to enhance visualization for best imaging per protocol. Performs various procedures in imaging areas such as: X-rays, and CT scans. Follows established protocols for administration of contrast media. Operates mobile x-ray equipment in emergency room and at patient bedside. 2. Prepares room and equipment for radiology exam. Disinfects all equipment before and after each patient contact. Follows infection control procedures. Maintains and restocks appropriate supplies. Follows established protocol in accordance with the requested procedure being conducted. Ensures all equipment is maintenance and in optimal function condition. Reports and follows up on equipment issues. 3. Prepares patient for procedures. Transports patient to and from Radiology department. Identifies patient appropriately. Validates the procedure to be performed with the patient and obtains necessary consent. Validates patient prep and medical history for exam ordered. Explains procedures to the patient effectively. Assists in performing first aid as needed. Anticipates and responds appropriately to the needs of the patient and his or her family . 4. Follows established radiation safety policies and procedures to protect patients and staff and performs in a manner that ensures patient safety. Minimizes retakes by selecting proper technical factors in the x-ray generating equipment according to exam protocol and patient condition. Utilizes radiation exposure reduction techniques such as proper collimation and lead shielding to minimize radiation exposure. Wears personal radiation monitoring device while on duty. Ensures visitors and staff are supplied with lead shielding or kept at a safe distance from the source of radiation. 5. Performs patient documentation and completes necessary office duties. Ensures patient reports are received in a timely manner for the health care provider. Ensures patient charges are accurately documented using the EHR system. Provides input and assists with maintaining department policies, procedures, and product information. Provides patient demographics and reports to hospital billing system. Ensures correct patient exam is filed so charges are accurate for billing. Documents accurate and ongoing assessments of patient status related to CT Scans. 6. Communicates effectively. Communicates and collaborates effectively with other health team members regarding patient condition, nursing plan of care, patient satisfaction needs and recommendations for meeting identified outcomes. Identifies and recognizes abnormal symptoms/changes in patient condition, established priorities, and takes appropriate action. Appropriately reports condition changes to medical provider. 7.
