What You'll Do: Conducting assessments using tools such as ABLLS-R, VB-MAPP, PEAK, AFLS, Vineland, Essential for Living, and functional behavior assessments. Developing individualized treatment plans and behavior intervention plans (BIPs) for center-based, in-home, community-based, and telehealth ABA programs. Supervising Behavior Technicians and supporting performance management, coaching, training, and competency development. Providing ongoing parent training and participating in family, treatment-team, and stakeholder meetings. Monitoring learner progress, analyzing data, and making clinical recommendations based on medical necessity. Ensuring clinical documentation, billing, and EHR requirements are completed accurately and on time. Collaborating with the Associate Clinical Director and Scheduler to maintain staffing plans and ensure quality service delivery. Upholding BACB ethics, Michigan LBA requirements, HIPAA standards, and Hope Network policies. Qualifications: Bachelor's degree required. BCaBA certification with a passing BACB exam score. Experience providing ABA in clinic, home-based, and community settings. Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record.     Behavior Technician Role and Responsibilities: Assist rehab staff in implementation of behavior protocols that are developed by the BCBA. Assist in novel data collection, making observations and documenting client behaviors and trends. Provide relevant corrective reinforcement and praise, for both clients and staff as appropriate. Feedback for staff would be specifically related to their implementation of Behavior Protocols. Model appropriate, professional, and compassionate behavior for both staff and clients. BTs would be involved in increasing the staff's engagement with the clients. They will assist management with: ensuring client engagement schedules are being followed including therapy attendance. conduct daily observations on engagement and provide immediate feedback/praise when necessary. teach and model staff when dealing with more difficult clients. assist in more specific community access goals and interact directly with clients in the community when they are resistant or are otherwise underperforming in meeting their goals. BTs would be responsible for responding to crisis situations during their shift and often responsible for managing and assessing the interventions of staff (e.g., QBS protocol). While BTs will primarily be working with BCBAs, they will also be expected to work well within the multidisciplinary team. They will also need to communicate and work collaboratively with the Residential Unit Coordinators, Residential Supervisors, Program Coordinators, and clinicians of various disciplines (e.g., Occupational Therapists, Psychotherapists, Speech Therapists, Recreation Therapists, Health Educators, Dietician, Physical Therapists, etc.) depending on the client's programming. BTs would work with clients on community transportation goals (e.g. cabbing, busing, and walking with them) and would help clients in developing their own social networks in the community. Functions under the supervision and direction of the Registered Nurse, License Practical Nurse and Director of Nursing to assist in providing personal care to the patient's at Brightwell Behavioral, within scope of service. Essential Functions: Assists with admission, transfer and discharge of patients. Answers call system promptly. Takes and records patients' temperature, pulse, respirations, blood pressure, intake and output, and weight according to hospital procedure. Performs glucometer testing and bladder scans as requested. Assist in giving and teaching bed baths, shower, tub and partial baths. Gives therapeutic baths such as sitz, foot and temperature sponge bath. Assist in giving and teaching oral hygiene, hair care, nail care, and gives special skin care (includes back rubs).     Job DescriptionSalary: POSTING is for our clinic in BRIGHTON, MI The ABA Behavior Technician will provide clinical skills instruction and behavior reductionprotocols based upon the principles of Applied Behavior Analysis to children with Autism. The ABA Behavior Technician will collect data and complete session notes. The ABA Behavior Technician will be responsible for supporting the duties of the Lead ABA Behavior Technician in the temporary absenceof these team members as required. The ABA Behavior Technician is required to complete 40 hours of online Registered ABA Behavior Technician training prior to the ABA Behavior Technicians start date. If the ABA Behavior Technician is certified, a copy of the training certificate must be provided to Laugh & Learn prior to their start date. RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES: Provide direct client care in 1:1 and group settings utilizing a combination of intensive teaching and natural environment training arrangements Follow the prescribed behavioral skill acquisition and behavior reduction protocols Collect, record, and summarize data on observable client behavior Effectively communicate with parents and caregivers regarding client progress as instructed by the BCBA Utilize safe & appropriate handling procedures when working with clients Maintain client confidentiality Assist in preparing client materials as instructed Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work and therapy environment Assist with Lead ABA Behavior Technician responsibilities in their absence as required Maintain and acquire technical knowledge by attending trainings as required KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES: Ability to accept constructive feedback and develop knowledge and skill sets accordingly Effective time management skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks at one time Excellent written and verbal communication skills Ability to develop and maintain professional relationships with clients, co-workers, supervisors and community members Ability to adhere to organizational policies and procedures and abide by the code of ethics as indicated by the Behavior Analyst Certification Board Commitment to maintain client confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA laws Commitment to ongoing training and development as it relates to clinical skills, professional development, ethics and technology in order to perform job responsibilities to required standards Must maintain a professional appearance with regard to clothing, grooming, hair and make-up BASIC & PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds Must be able to lift and carry clients with adaptive equipment Must be able to assume and maintain a variety of postures (kneeling, squatting, crawling, sitting, standing) for extended periods of time Must be able to sit on the floor or stand for extended periods of time Must be willing and able to hold/transport and utilize quick body movements as indicated in the Behavior Intervention Plan in the course of working with children with challenging behavior Must have manual dexterity to perform specific computer and electronic device functions for data collection Must be physically present at assigned job location Must be able to receive detailed information through oral communication Must have visual acuity to read and comprehend written communication through computer, electronic devices and paper means Must have reliable transportation EXPERIENCE: Preferred: 1-3 years experience Preferred: Experience working with children ages 2-21, preferably with children with disabilities, and experience in implementing the principles of Applied Behavior Analysis EDUCATION: Required: High School Diploma or GED (over 18 years of age and capable of passing a background check) RELATED TRAINING: Responsible for completing and maintaining all required certifications and trainings once employed; including, but not limited to: CPR, CPI/QBS, RBT trainings and other company in-services and trainings.
