Full-time Description
The BehaviorTechnician (BT) position is at the heart of any Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) program. Each child's treatment plan is carried out by the BT on a daily basis. Consistency within the treatment plan is critical, as is time management. The BehaviorTechnician is responsible for upholding the highest quality of care. A desire to work with children is essential. The ideal candidate would be patient and open-minded, with a strong work ethic.
The BehaviorTechnician will provide one-on-one individual treatment for children with Autism Spectrum Disorder ages 2 to 21 using Applied Behavior Analysis. They will implement learning programs (communication, self-help, play skills) under the direct supervision of a Board Certified Behavior Analyst.
BehaviorTechnician Responsibilities
Duties include, but are not limited to:
-Focus on changing the child's behavior by observing and measuring the behavior in real- life environments.
· Gather behavioral data to track progress in reaching behavioral objectives identified in the behavior plan
· Implement learning programs (communication, self-help, and play skills) as written and instructed by the BCBA
· Collect data on all behaviors targeted and meet with supervisor weekly to analyze the information gathered and participate in initial and ongoing trainings
· Assist with parent training so family members/caregivers can teach and support skills during typical family activities
· Document each service activity in Central Reach
· Complete mandatory training and refresher training
· Supervise children and ensure that all safety protocols are followed.
· Properly report all critical incidents and safety concerns regarding persons receiving services.
· Ensure that documentation is completed in a timely manner and in accordance with established organizational procedures.
· Participate in staff meetings as directed by supervisor
· Model and promote good communication, customer service, and positive representation of the organization to children, families, referral sources and the public.
· Other responsibilities as requested by supervisor

A Registered BehaviorTechnician provides one-on-one behavioral intervention services to children with special needs and support to their families under the close supervision of a BCBA (Board Certified Behavior Analyst).
RBTs may work with clients in-home, in-school, in-center, and in the community.
Each Registered BehaviorTechnician (RBT) will continue to assess and evaluate the effectiveness of the Behavior Support Plan in achieving identified goals and objectives by collecting data and writing progress notes.
Effective communication with supervisors and parents is essential to the RBT's success and must be present at all times.
RBTs will complete a BACB-approved RBT course and keep registration current.
Other responsibilities include the following:
Understanding and adhering to established policies and procedures, standards, and consistently interpreting and accurately performing all assigned responsibilities.
Pairing and building rapport with clients, families, stakeholders and their Team members.
Attending all collaboration, case meetings, and team training meetings.
Recording detailed session notes, keeping accurate client data in real-time, and maintaining records well-documented.
Observing confidentiality and safeguarding all patient-related information.
Demonstrating effective time-management skills through daily documentation and infrequent overtime for routine assignments.
Maintaining a clean and neat work environment.
Demonstrating sound judgment, critical thinking, and decision-making.
Exemplary skills in self-management and communication.
Performing other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
Must have ABA experience
Must meet the MN EIDBI Level 1 Provider requirements (listed below)
Have at least 2,000 hours of clinical experience and/or training in the examination and/or treatment of people with autism spectrum disorder or a related condition OR completed the equivalent in graduate-level coursework at an accredited university (Coursework must be documented in one or more of the following areas: ASD or related condition diagnostics, ASD or related condition treatment strategies or child development.)
In addition, a person must meet at least one of the following requirements:
1. Have a doctoral or master's degree from an accredited college or university in behavioral health, child development or related fields
2. Be a Board Certified Behavior Analyst-Doctoral (BCBA-D) or a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) through the Behavior Analyst Certification Board, Inc. (BACB)
3. Have a bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in behavioral health, child development or a related field and advanced certification in one of the DHS-recognized treatment modalities
4. Be a Board Certified assistant Behavior Analyst (BCaBA) through the BACB and have 4,000 hours of supervised clinical experience that meets all registration, supervision and continuing education requirements of the certification
OR
Have completed or are currently enrolled in a master's degree program at an accredited college or university in one of the behavioral or child-development sciences or a related field.
OR
Have at least 6,000 hours of clinical experience providing early intervention services in Applied Behavior Analysis AND have a bachelor's degree in a related field and have completed the required training for Level III providers.

Ensures throughout each shift that appropriate communication items and safety equipment are in use in support of fall prevention and safe patient handling.
Provides for unit organization and cleanliness, including but not limited to removing portable items and linens from patient rooms following discharge, disinfecting reusable patient supplies per infection control guidelines, and various stocking responsibilities as appropriate to the unit to keep supplies ready for the provision of care.
Supportive of family or caregiver involvement in the plan of care, taking into consideration the patients' individual preferences and safety.
Actively participates in service area/organization initiatives through committee/project participation and attendance of service area/organization meetings. As a member of the health care team, looks for mechanisms to improve efficiency and patient care delivery.

* Major duties include but are not limited to: Obtains schedule of daily management from MSA staff and monitors the appointment intakes and device needs for all patients in the schedule to including: Tele Audiology appointments - mobile van outreach - vestibular evaluations - electrophysiology appointments - hearing evaluation appointments - hearing aid follow-up and fitting appointments
* Completes earmold impressions
* Orders appropriate replacement parts for hearing aids for Veteran use and clinic stock
* Assemble mailings for post hearing aid fitting surveys - follow up with any surveys that have poor outcomes to triage appropriate action
* Clean and maintain all types of assistive listening devices - hearing aids - and accessories
* Complete wireless pairing to accessories and cell phones for all brands
* Download software module settings to hearing aids returning from repair at factory settings
* Enters hearing aid orders - certifying orders - registering aids - monitoring authorized aids list - and repairs in ROES
* Monitors clinic orders for accuracy and timeliness
* Ensures proper orders for disposable parts and replacement parts in ROES for the clinic stock as well as patient fulfillment requests
* Manages the assistive listening device inventory by independently initiating stock level requests and special orders as needed
* Travel may be required intermittently on an as needed basis
* Collaborates with telehealth staff to implement - monitor and improve the telehealth program - as such works closely with the Facility Telehealth Coordinator as well as direct supervisor
* Documents care according to all procedures - policies and protocols
* Direct delivery duties as patient site clinical technician for assigned audiology clinics during telehealth as instructed by the audiologist
* Maintain clean - disinfected - and sterilized instrumentation - equipment - and work surfaces for all clinic treatment and processing areas
* Documents all direct care patient activities in CPRS and ROES as required per facility policy
