Visual Arts Department:
The mission of the department of visual arts at Bergen Community is to provide students with instruction, experience and encouragement in the practice of visual art and the study of the history of art and visual culture. The Visual Arts Department is located on the main campus in Paramus in West Hall. Facilities include state-of-the-art studios for computer animation, computer graphics, drawing/painting, digital and darkroom photography and digital projection for the teaching of the history of art.
The Associate of Applied Science degree (A.A.S.)- Graphic Design/Computer Graphics program option is designed to provide students with the coursework needed to transfer to a four-year institution and pursue a bachelor's degree in graphic design. The curriculum provides students with the knowledge and skills needed to pursue a pathway to careers in graphic design/computer graphics as graphic designers, art directors, multimedia artists, and animators.
Students can take coursework and concentrated options in graphic design. Students are strongly encouraged to consult with Bergen Community College faculty and Career Services as they begin to explore career options.

World Language Department:
The mission of the department of world languages and cultures at Bergen Community College is to foster the study of thirteen languages offered at the College and to further the experience for those students who wish to continue learning a language previously studied. The department offers the following courses: American Sign Language, Arabic, Chinese, French, German, Hebrew, Irish, Italian, Japanese, Korean, Latin, Russian and Spanish. Courses in the world languages and cultures department develops students' appreciation for other cultures and other ways of living and thinking. Liberal Arts students may choose World Languages as an option or “major” by taking two general education Humanities in World Languages (6 credits) and two free electives in World Languages.
We are currently looking for adjuncts for the following courses:
American Sign Language (ASL):
Required: Master's degree in American Sign Language/Deaf Studies or Bachelor's degree + native speaker; ASLTA certification preferred; minimum two years teaching experience at high school and/or college level. Applicant must be willing to teach day or evening classes in Paramus and/or Lyndhurst.
German:

Classes are studio based and involve both lecture and hands on in class work with students. Applicants should possess the ability to work with a diverse range of students, communicate effectively and create a welcoming and supportive classroom environment.
