Able to perform general lab maintenance duties including but not limited to those listed and performed by Lab Assistants in Anatomic Pathology. Timely and accurate processing and documentation of the specimens impact the entire laboratory process. QUALIFICATIONSEducation Required: High School Diploma or equivalent. Experience Required: Phlebotomy experience or certification. Other Skills/Knowledge Required: For safety and quality reasons, must be able to read, write and communicate effectively in English with patients, visitors and fellow members of the hospital team JOB FUNCTIONS Registers patients. Enters physician orders. Prepares the patient, verifies identification and physician orders, draws blood with attention to patient comfort, and labels specimen accurately with essential information. Receives, and packs specimens, expediting the delivery process for lab processing. Documents receipt of specimens in electronic medical record system. Runs daily reports and addresses issues as pertinent. Perform housekeeping, handle hazardous waste and keep laboratory area fully stocked Communicates with Phlebotomy management as needed. Pay Range: $21. 00 - $28. 26The pay range listed for this position is the base hourly wage range the organization reasonably and in good faith expects to pay for this position at this time.
