Assists with training staff interpreters. Orients patients to hospital as needed, i. e. , L & D tours, community events, etc. Other duties as needed. Assists in the coordination/scheduling of free-lance interpreters. Assists with data entry/data collection . Completes interpreter paperwork. Assists as needed scheduling and confirming patient appointments Supports patients outside of their clinical appointments as needed with issues relating to their care at the hospital. Contributes towards developing an environment that is welcoming and responsive to Portuguese speaking patients. Qualifications:Bachelor of Arts or equivalent degree or experience. Excellent rating on Interpreter Assessment Evaluation. Bi-lingual (oral and written) bi-cultural skills. Medical interpreting skills, including accuracy and memory.
