- Obtains and documents vital signs, height & weight, blood glucose levels, measures output, and places new cardiac monitor on patient.

- Performs clinical functions such as EKGs, obtaining lab specimens, urine & serum, bladder scans, clipping and washing surgical site. (Specialized training needed)
- Applies splints, slings, immobilizers, and ice wraps/Polar Cubes, as needed. (specialized training)
- Utilizes sterile technique in assisting MD with special procedures such as bone marrow biopsies, lumbar punctures, nerve blocks; including set up/clean up. Ensures necessary supplies are available/stocked.
- Provides training and fitting for orthopedic devices, including crutches and walkers. (specialized training)
- Provides weight bearing training as tolerated by patients.
- Provides training for walking and use of stairs; with/without a railing.
- Works with Same Day Discharge Total Joint patients to meet discharge requirements
- Perform jewelry removal with electric ring cutter (special training)
