Assures compliance with Nursing Practice Guidelines. B. Maintains and displays knowledge of current professional/clinical issues and uses evidence based resources to implement necessary changes in the delivery of nursing care. C. Conducts regular rounds in order to monitor hospital activities and to ensure activities are carried out in accordance with established standards, policies and procedures. D. SYSTEM COORDINATION: A. Links departmental goals to organizations mission and goals. B. Works collaboratively to solve problems, improve processes and integrate services within Nursing and other departments. C. Supports new ideas and changes within the department by actively participating and contributing. D. Demonstrates flexibility in meeting demands of the department. E. Develops effective communication methods to keep staff and others informed about activities of the organization and department. F. Coordinates and directs activities during Clinic emergencies and/or disaster drill, using established disaster plans. QUALITY IMPROVEMENT: A. Reviews outcome measures and works collaboratively with leadership team to improve patient outcomes. Ie: National Database of Nursing Quality Indicators (NDNQI) and Core Measures B. Collaborates with multi-disciplinary teams to: - Comply with regulatory standards - Improve patient satisfaction - Identify, assess, measure and systematically improve important processes and activities. HUMAN RESOURCE MANAGEMENT: A. Encourages creativity and celebrates staff accomplishments. B. Communicates staffing concerns to Nurse Managers and Associate Chiefs. C. Encourages staff participation on Shared Governance Councils, nursing committees, and organization committees. D. Provides a safe environment for discussion of issues. E. Coaches and supports staff by removing barriers and addressing issues. F. Develops effective communication methods to keep staff and others informed about the activities of the organization and department. BUDGETARY RESPONSIBILITIES: A. Allocates resources effectively to provide high-quality, cost-effective services. PROFESSIONAL GROWTH/SELF IMPROVEMENT: A.
