This type of apartment is designed to accommodate those whose needs are greater than care available in a traditional assisted living environment yet do not require skilled nursing care. Here, we have a range of residents that are independent to others who require mechanical lifts, assistance with medication administration, and other activities of daily living. What You'll Do * Assist residents with personal cares, daily activities while helping them maintain as much independence and dignity as possible * Provide dressing, bathing and bathroom assistance * Transport residents to meals and activities, documentation of daily care, and a variety of other tasks. * Communicate and interact with residents, their families, and other departments to create an environment that focuses on resident safety and well-being. Gives accurate and complete information to patient and family. · Evaluates patient and family understanding of treatment plan and/or instructions. · Assists with a variety of procedures, exams and/or operation of diagnostic equipment as assigned · Maintains appropriate aseptic technique for preparation, procedures and medications administered. · Accurately and legibly documents all patient interactions in patient record · Reports results and pertinent information to patients and health care team members. · Functions according to limitations or scope of license or certification. · Performs basic nursing functions (vitals, rooming, assist with procedures, etc), under direction and supervision of physician. · Maintains professional appearance of patient exam and procedure rooms. MARGINAL FUNCTIONS: · Maintains supply inventory and stocks supplies in various work areas. · Responsible for following equipment maintenance protocol, identifying problems, and coordinating appropriate repairs. · Misc. office duties (i.e. copying, filing, retrieval of films/medical records) · Assists with nursing chart audits. MINIMUM KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED: · Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) or Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) certification must be obtained within first year of employment and maintained thereafter. · Clinic/physician office experience preferred. · Basic Life Support (BLS) certified or obtained within three (3) months of hire.
