Ensure subcontractors are qualified and safely maintain productivity within the project budget. Setting project and construction execution basis, monitoring the execution, and updating detailed work schedules. Coordinating the utilization of resources to meet the project schedule and budget. Supervise, monitor, and document the execution of all subcontractors to ensure that all contract items and conditions are fulfilled. Ensure the installation of work is in accordance with plans, specifications, and good practices. Ensure all changes to the scope of work are reviewed and approved prior to the actions being taken. Ensure the change order process is in place, functional, documented, followed, and reported in the project monthly report. Keep a daily logbook of any and all events that are of a pertinent nature to the project. Ensure all direct reports, superintendents and subcontractor coordinators are maintaining a daily logbook appropriately documenting their project activity, direction made or received affecting the contract and/or scope of work. Maintaining a positive relationship with the Client Representative assigned to the project. Assure that all personnel assigned to the project are aware of company policies and procedures and abide by them. Prepare the weekly report of project status, schedule, cost, QA/QC, safety, Change Order log and other contract required information to the client. Prepare a monthly report which will include a general overview of the project progress for the month. Safety status and statistics, schedule status, cost status, change order status, training status, field staff personnel summary, number of staff employees for the month, average number of subcontractor employees (indirect & direct) on the project for the month, staff personnel mobilization schedule, new personnel requirements, and a general summary of the status of our relationship with the client in the field. Supervise and/or coordinate all staff employees assigned to the project. Assume leadership role of Safety Focused planning efforts upon mobilization of project. Ensure a safe working environment. Ensure quality work. Comply with all Company and HSE procedures and policies. Perform other work-related duties as assigned. Education / Qualifications Bachelor's degree, preferably in Engineering or Construction Management. Experience in working on Commercial/Industrial projects in a multi-cultural environment. Minimum 10 years of construction management experience. Experience in Lump Sum and or Guarantee Maximum Price contracts. Required Skills Proficient in Microsoft Suite. Word, Excel, etc. Interpersonal skills for customer and subcontract relations. Project cost estimation. Responsibilities The successful candidate will demonstrate an in-depth understanding of the outside and inside plant construction process for fiber optic cable and wireless infrastructure in urban and/or rural environments. Construction Managers leverage deep time management and organizational skills to deliver superior results to our customers. Construction Manager's must be able to: Assemble detailed and accurate cost estimates for upcoming construction projects. Administrate the project budget: ensuring visibility and accountability to on-budget performance throughout the project life cycle. Prepare detailed scopes of work and follow company processes for bids and vendor awards. Establish project timeline and oversee daily activities of vendor and/or internal resources to deliver on-time performance for our customers. Ensure project visibility is sufficient through diligent application of company systems and tools such as Oracle and Netcracker. Demonstrate superior customer service skills; maintaining the highest standard of professionalism at all customerfacing meetings, surveys, inspections, etc. Support the ROW team in the timely acquisition of municipal and utility licenses and permits. Ensure the timely processing of project documentation in accordance with all internal policies and procedures: PO's, Invoices, as-builts, etc. Secure any Certificates of Insurance required from vendors. Provide regular accurate updates on construction status to key internal stakeholders, customers, and within Lightpath systems and tolls such as Netcracker or a GIS based system. Participate in network maintenance and repair activities as required. Other duties as required. Qualifications Minimum HS graduate, some college preferred. Basic PCskills required: Word, Excel, Outlook, etc. Minimum (approx.) 5 years' experience in OSP/ISP telecommunications construction. Demonstrated ability to read and interpret construction prints. Thorough knowledge of construction practices and procedures as well as knowledge of fiber optic materials and practices. Understanding of local municipal / utility licensing and permitting requirements a plus. Experience with GIS systems a plus. Must have a valid driver's license in the state of their residence. Assist in the development of Health and Safety Policies. Audit project sites and the site Safety & Training coordinators to ensure compliance with the Cementation Safety Management System and Training Programs. Provide vacation relief as required to field projects they are responsible for Assist in the development of written job procedures for all tasks being performed at a project. Review all policies and procedures with the Manager of Safety before implementation. May be required to conduct a refresher, on a yearly basis, of the Basic Health and Safety Policy and Safety Management System with all the appropriate workers. Review, with the appropriate workers, the written job procedures and keep a record of the training on file. Assist site management in resolving any training concerns. Attend any required training courses appropriate to the position or safety conferences related to the mining environment, participate on committees and sub-committees, attend Safety Association meetings as requested by the Corporate Manager - Health & Safety. Conduct Job Observations along side of the trainer on each worker based on the worker's training requirements and sign the worker off on the appropriate mining modules. Conduct a Training Needs Analysis for each Cementation worker who requires training. Ensure that records of training and documentation are kept and available for each individual worker. Communicate with Head Office personnel with respect to registration of any new workers and of the successful modules which the Cementation workers may have completed. Ensure that project sites under your direction maintain an up-to-date training matrix. Issue related training documents. Coordinate First Aid and C.P.R. Training and refresher training for all the workers, supervisors, superintendents and site managers. Coordinate the training for each for projects under your direction for Supervisors in the Supervisory Common Core and provide Supervisor Orientation on newly hired or promoted Supervisors. TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS This position will be required to travel when necessary. A valid US Passport and authorization to travel internationally is required. OTHER All training documentation and inspection reports will be filled out in a timely. fashion. A copy of the original will be placed in the employee's file, and the original will be kept at Head Office.
