The Assistant Controller will play a key role in supporting the financial operations of NWH. This position is responsible for ensuring accurate financial reporting, maintaining internal controls and compliance and managing the month-end financial close process. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, analytical, and thrives in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. What you'll do: Develop SOX ready documentation, narratives, flow charts, RCMs, control descriptions in conjunction with staff and the Controller Provide training and guidance on internal control standards and best practices Design and implement an effective internal controls framework across financial and operational processes Monitor compliance with company policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements (e.g., SOX, COSO) Conduct risk assessments to identify control gaps and areas of improvement Evaluate the design and operating effectiveness of internal controls through testing and walkthroughs Collaborate with process owners to develop remediation plans for control deficiencies as needed Report findings and recommendations to senior management Drive continuous improvement initiatives and automation of control processes where applicable Serve as an audit liaison to external auditors for year-end audit.
