Additional duties as assigned. Flexibility required to meet schedule changes, as needed.
Qualifications: Valid CT Driver's License and clean driving record required. Must be at least 21 years of age. Bilingual Spanish/English speaking strongly preferred to meet the needs of the clients. Must be able to address and take control of difficult situations in the moment. Excellent verbal and written communication skills required. Experience working with children and families strongly preferred. Possess the following certifications, or be eligible to obtain these after hire: Adult/Child CPR & First Aid, Therapeutic Crisis Intervention, Visit Coaching Model Training, and additional DCF trainings as determined by the program.

One year experience driving a van and a clean driver record. Up to one (1) year experience driving a truck having a body length of 20 feet or longer. This position includes or may include operating a motor vehicle intrastate, with GVWR of 18,001 lbs. or more. In this position you must be at all times compliant with all relevant Department of Transportation regulations. Compliance requires completion of, and provision of documentation including: o Successful passing of Road Test, as directed by YNHHS, in accordance to and compliance with DOT regulation. YNHHS will provide the testing opportunity. If a Commercial Driver's License (CDL) is held by applicant and current, YNHHS Road Test is not necessary. o Current and valid driver's license (Must be at least 21 years old with no active suspensions) o Current and valid Medical Examiner's Certificate, issued by a practitioner on the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) National Registry. o If you have a physical impairment including hearing loss that affects your ability to operate a Commercial Motor Vehicle safely, you must obtain a Skill Performance Evaluation (SPE) certificate. Overview

Education and Experience

Overview
Under the supervision of the Reception and Transportation Manager, the Driver is responsible for providing transportation to Duncaster residents using the Duncaster vehicles as assigned. In between transports, assignments will include delivering of packages or assisting other departments as needed.
Essential Functions
Performs a vehicle walk around prior to driving and reports any operational difficulties, accidents, or vehicle malfunctions immediately.
Reports any accidents, operational difficulties, or vehicle malfunctions immediately.
Is reliable and prompt when committed to the driving schedule.
Fills gas tank when below half prior to putting away.
Cleans vehicle of all debris, turns off heater, AC, radio, lights, etc. prior to putting vehicle away and vacuums or takes care of car washes as needed.
Adheres to detailed Resident-Transportation Pick-up guidelines.
Maintains positive feedback from transported residents.
Uses sound judgment in determining best next location after delivering a resident.
Carries a radio or cell phone to be in constant communication with the receptionist.
Completes and stays current on position required training.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Education and Experience
High school diploma or equivalent is required.
“F” Public Passenger Endorsement for a non-commercial license or an “F,” or “P” for a CDL is required.
1 year of experience in a related field is required.
Maintains a current CT driver's license and clean driving record.
Follows all State and Federal driving laws and Duncaster communication policy regarding cell phone use and operates the vehicle according to the Transportation Guidebook.
Must be able to speak, read, and write the English language in an understandable manner.
Must have basic knowledge of body mechanics (i.e. ability to assist in transfer of residents from wheelchair to vehicle), and ability to lift wheelchair into vehicle.
Must have general knowledge of surrounding geographic area.
Must possess the ability to make independent decisions when warranted.
Must possess the ability to deal tactfully with personnel, residents, family members, visitors, government agencies/personnel and the general public.

The Driver Schedule is as follows:
Monday - Friday 11:30 AM - 8:00 PM (with 1/2 hour lunch break)
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Provide transportation for children and/or families to scheduled visits at the QPC during both day and evening hours.
Maintain consistent communication with the Program Director and scheduler.
Report any safety concerns immediately.
Complete and submit monthly vehicle maintenance documentation
Coordinate vehicle maintenance as needed and arrange for replacement vehicle (as needed).
Cordially interact with passengers. Address difficult situations in the moment and report them to the Program Director and Family Life Coach.
Additional duties as assigned. Flexibility required to meet schedule changes, as needed.
Qualifications: Valid CT Driver's License and clean driving record required. Must be at least 21 years of age. Bilingual Spanish/English speaking strongly preferred to meet the needs of the clients. Must be able to address and take control of difficult situations in the moment. Excellent verbal and written communication skills required. Experience working with children and families strongly preferred. Possess the following certifications, or be eligible to obtain these after hire: Adult/Child CPR & First Aid, Therapeutic Crisis Intervention, Visit Coaching Model Training, and additional DCF trainings as determined by the program.
