The Best Teams are Created and Maintained Here. * The Snow Equipment Operator is responsible for performing safe and efficient snow removal operations throughout the winter season. This role involves operating snowplows and other heavy equipment to clear designated areas.
Duties and Responsibilities:
* Remove snow using a snowplow and heavy equipment for extended periods of time, depending on the amount of snowfall.
* Be available and prepared to report to work each time it snows, either to a central location or directly to the jobsite
* Deposit removed snow in appropriate locations, avoiding obstruction of trees, shrubs, fire hydrants, and sidewalks.
* Identify and report any concerns or incidents to the direct supervisor.
* Maintain accurate and timely documentation by completing job sheets immediately following each snow removal operation.
* Be aware of safety issues or concerns and report them to the appropriate supervisor.
* Perform additional related tasks assigned by supervisor or manager.
Education and Experience:
* High School Diploma or GED
* Valid Driver's License and the ability to drive to a variety of work locations in assigned territory.
* Reliable transportation to and from any work site.
* Prior experience operating snowplow equipment.
* Participate in routine maintenance of equipment.
* Experience working efficiently in a production-driven / fast paced environment.
* Physically able to work outside, sometimes in extreme weather conditions with sporadic hours based on a snow event.

You'd be responsible for:
The primary function of this position is to work as a member of a tree crew which includes varying numbers of grounds workers, climbers, and crew leaders. A Grounds Person work as part of an effective tree care team and assists and supports the crew leader and climber in a variety of ways.
* Performs tree care activities that maintain safe and healthy trees for our clients.
* Responsible for daily equipment inspection and maintenance.
* Sets up safety items including positioning cones and signs and roping or taping off crew work areas.
* Hands tools to the climber and receives tools from the climber using a rope to hoist them up into the tree.
* Gathers branches into piles, transports to the chipper, feeds them into the chipper and unload tree trunks and chips at the appropriate facility.
* Ensures that all operations, job sites and employees are safe and that the general public which might come into contact with the area will be safe.
* Supports other team members in tree care activities and works as part of a team.
* Communicates effectively with other crew members and the public.
Grounds Person II (G-2) is an advanced ground operations position. Team members at the G-2 level demonstrate proficiency in all G-1 skills or have verifiable experience in those areas. The G-2 team member has advanced ground operations skills and demonstrate proficiency in the following areas related to tree care.
* Arboricultural fundamentals: G-2 can perform all role specific tree care operations on the ground.
* Equipment operation: G-2 has advanced skills in the safe operation of powered equipment such as chippers, trucks, and blowers.
* Equipment operation: G-2 has intermediate to advanced chainsaw skills and can effectively employ a wide variety of ground based cutting techniques including limbing, bucking and directional felling is proficient in both ground-based and canopy-based chainsaw techniques.
* Tools: G-2 can effectively use hand tools such as pole saws or pole pruners to prune trees from the ground.
* PPE: G-2 uses task specific Personal Protective Equipment according to industry standards and company protocols.
* Jobsite Management: G-2 is responsible for keeping jobsite clean and organized. A G-2 can assist the climber or crew leader in rigging operations. A G-2 has demonstrated proficiency in supporting the set-up of basic rigging systems from the ground in order to reduce the likelihood of property damage or personal injury. A G-2 effectively implements plans to control vehicular and pedestrian traffic on the jobsite with minimal guidance from other team members. The G-2 maintains a protected work zone with little guidance from other team members.
You might be a good fit if you have:
* Able to successfully follow directions and established procedures related to roping and rigging, maintenance of equipment, adjustments to equipment, and reporting malfunctioning equipment.
* Ability to perform mathematical operations (add, subtract, multiply and divide) using weight measurement, volume, and distance. Ability to calculate or estimate weight, volume and distance related to arboricultural field operations.
* Apply critical thinking skills to understand and carry-out instructions. Perform standardized tasks with occasional variables encountered.
* Effective communication skills.
* Communicate using hand signals with climbers to ensure safety and to perform work within acceptable standards.
* Communicate verbally with the general public to direct them safely around the work area.

* Prune shrubs and low trees as needed to improve the shape or growth habit or to remove damaged branches
* Plant and maintain flower beds
* Operate the edger and line trimmer along sidewalks, flower beds, trees, buildings, fences, and other objects
* Pick up trash and blow leaves and other organic debris on to the turf before mowing.
* Mulch the leaves and organic matter when mowing.
* Perform weeding by hand or using a garden hoe or hula hoe
* Perform basic, preventative maintenance to extend the life of equipment
* Properly remove trash, dead plants, and suckers from landscape
