Responsibilities of a GNA: Geriatric Nursing Assistant:
Provides personal care to residents in accordance with policy and procedure; includes oral hygiene/denture care, skin, hair and nail care, shaving and bathing.
Accurately records and reports routine vital signs, weights and bowel movements in accordance with policy and procedure.
Maintains awareness of comfort and safety needs of residents.
Reports all physical and psychological changes in residents to licensed nurse.
Assists residents with toileting as needed; includes assisting residents with urinals/bedpans and follows through with clean up and disposal in accordance with policy and procedure.
Checks incontinent residents every two hours and changes residents as required.
Turns and positions residents every two hours, or more frequently as needed.
Practices safe lifting, moving and transferring of residents.
Assists residents with ambulation as required; includes assisting residents to and from activities as needed.
Maintains residents' rooms and closets in a neat and orderly manner in accordance with safety standards.
Changes linens and makes beds, as required. Takes soiled linens and residents' personal clothing to laundry in accordance with policy and procedure.
Empties soiled clothing and linens hampers as needed.
Passes food trays, snacks and water on a timely basis and assists residents to and from dining areas as needed.
Monitors residents during meals. Assists with feeding as necessary, and accurately records and reports intake of food and liquid.
Assists with new admission of residents; includes re-admissions, discharges and room/bed reassignments.
Follows proper safety practices and universal precautions in all activity.
Requirements of a GNA: Geriatric Nursing Assistant:
High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to the three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
Current Maryland state geriatric nursing assistant registration required.

Position Summary
Under the direction of a Registered Nurse (RN), the Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) provides compassionate, hands-on care to patients in a fast-paced trauma and neuro-rehabilitation environment. You will play a key role in supporting patient dignity, comfort, and recovery through daily care routines and team collaboration.
Key Responsibilities
Assist with AM/PM care: bathing, oral hygiene, grooming, toileting, dressing, and other personal care needs
Maintain a clean and safe patient environment: change bed linens, tidy bedside areas, and restock supplies
Ensure patient comfort by adjusting beds, providing pillows or blankets, and attending to hydration needs
Collaborate with the interdisciplinary care team to support optimal patient outcomes
Adhere to National Patient Safety Goals and LifeBridge Health's high-reliability care standards
Qualifications
High School Diploma or GED
Maryland CNA or GNA License
Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification

Attend 12 hours of in-service and staff meetings yearly.

The Student Nurse Tech participates as a member of the nursing team in the delivery of quality patient care. Responsibilities of a LPN: Licensed Practical Nurse:
