Qualifications:
Required:

Job Overview
This position is in support of the US Coast Guard C5I Service Center's Automated Circuit Card Assembly Support (ACCAS) program. The position is to provide Miniature/Microminiature (2M)/Module Test and Repair (MTR) Subject Matter Expert (SMEs) for Gold Disc/Pinpoint Test Program Database (TPD) Development and Certification services. The C5ISC has the most challenging legacy items and relies heavily on ACCAS technical engineering support and development.
Responsibilities
Essential Duties & Job Functions:
Working with USCG COR, Subject Matter Experts, and Product Line Managers the SME will research and identify appropriate solutions to non-standard issues facing legacy electronic systems.
* Assemble, configure, and interface Pinpoint hardware systems and sub-systems into one complete, centralized automated testing console. Develop and interface existing hardware fixtures for automated testing of new circuit card assemblies at the Portsmouth facility and develop and fabricate new test fixtures for testing development and use. Will fabricate test jigs in conjunction with reverse engineering of COTS equipment when required.
* Engineering development of Pinpoint TPD's & Gold Disk Routines & test jig fabrication design for diverse systems that are not currently supported along with technical engineering advice to determine testing requirements and/or equipment modification.
* Conducts tests or experiments requiring selection and adaptation or modification of a wide variety of critical test equipment and test procedures; sets up and operates equipment; records data, measures and records problems of significant complexity that sometimes require resolution at a higher level; and analyzes data and prepares test reports.
* Develop and provide Silver/Gold Disk routines for Coast Guard Owned (CGO) equipment as assigned by C5ISC Portsmouth.
* Provide analysis of systems, sub-systems, electronic circuit cards, assemblies, and subassemblies to determine feasibility of cost effectiveness.
* Assist with administrative services to include maintaining the ACCAS technical library.

GENERAL DESCRIPTION
A Modeling and Simulation (M&S) Subject Matter Expert (SME) serves as a key representative of PLEXSYS, supporting both internal and external customers in the operation of PLEXSYS M&S software products and systems. This senior-level role requires all-domain expertise and a strong background in applying M&S in support of training and mission planning. Responsibilities of a SME include providing timely responses to customer inquiries and the timely resolution of technical support related issues. Additionally, a SME provides installation, delivery and training in support of successful solution delivery of the PLEXSYS ecosystem and third-party product integration. This role works with internal stakeholders including the Capability Requirements Manager (CRM), Capabilities Development Manager (CDM), and Platform Manager. A SME supports and advises the CRM and CDM on features and enhancements that provide the most value to our customers. They also assist the Platform Manager in maintaining, updating and developing databases, exercise scenarios, and guiding users through the use of PLEXSYS products during virtual and constructive exercises.
Duties & Responsibilities
Provide inputs to Customer Capabilities team in support of software development, the capabilities baseline and the capabilities roadmap.
Highly knowledgeable and proficient on the use of all PLEXSYS products and commonly utilized third party products
Train customers on PLEXSYS ecosystem and how it supports all phase, all domain training
Develop, maintain and update training products for customers
Create complex operational scenarios for advanced demonstration support and customer deliveries; be able to articulate and document discrepancies in achieving desired outcomes
Write checklists, training materials, reports and other documentation
Operate, interface and troubleshoot PLEXSYS products in support of Live, Virtual and Constructive exercises and training events
Interface PLEXSYS products with other customer simulation products as well as real-world systems
Ability to use critical thinking to process information and resolve issues quickly
Ability to work independently and make sound decisions
Work through complex situations and provide customers solutions
Interpret complex information and communicate it clearly and concisely, in general terms
Interpret network diagrams and understand connectivity between network participants
Assist customers seeking technical assistance online, over the phone, or email
Perform advanced troubleshooting on complex systems using diagnostic tools and determine the best solution based on details provided by customers
Navigate classification requirements and complexities while operating simulation environments, addressing network access and permissions
REQUIREMENTS
Bachelor's degree in STEM field (e.g., Computer Science, Electrical Engineering) or six years military Command, Control, Communications, Computer, Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance (C4ISR) experience with an understanding of Data link operations, airspace control and battle management of friendly air, ground and maritime forces
5-7 years of hands-on experience with modeling and simulation systems and a basic understanding of how aircraft, weapons and surveillance systems are used in modeling and simulation
Understanding of how to integrate modeling and simulation applications
Experience with Microsoft Office products; Word, Access and Excel
Ability to travel of up to 30% of the time
Desirable
Familiar with computer components, virtual machines, Microsoft, Linux and ability to diagnose issues in virtual and hardware environments
