Title: Part-time Packager
Department: Packaging
Reports to: Packaging Operators, Packaging Supervisors and Packaging Director
General Summary of Position: The responsibility of the Packager is to assist in the handling, assembly and production of the newspaper and its various components by being able to perform in various assigned positions.
Primary Responsibilities and Essential Duties
:
A. Packager Duties
Turns on and sets up stackers to accommodate the appropriate bundle size and page count.
Turns on bottom wraps and is ready to change roll when necessary.
Turns on and sets up Schur Palletizing System and be able to navigate through series of PLC controls, setting the machine up for the appropriate mode of operation “Local or Remote,” operating machine in a manual mode when necessary.
Replenishes stretch film and cardboard when necessary.
Works in palletizing cell during production, monitoring its functionality, and corrects errors such as: Lost Slip Sheet, Row Errors, etc.
Monitors bundle quality and counts; Removes damaged product as necessary.
Clears jams from stacker by removing and replacing bundle guides and re-start equipment
Clears jams from strapper, thread strap and restarts equipment.
Removes and labels completed product from palletizing system ensuring correct product and bundle count before dispatching to circulation.
Prepares preprints by removing damaged product and jogging them for placement into the feeder for insertion into the paper
Loads preprinted material into feeders at minimum rate of 8,000 pages per feeder minute which may require loading multiple feeders depending of the page count of the preprints.
Clears feeder jams when they occur by opening the door, removing the jam, and re-starting the machine.
Catches, jogs and neatly stacks inserted packages on pallets for later insertion into the newspaper.
Catches, jogs and neatly stacks papers from the press on pallets for later processing.
Empties papers that fall into the reject bin at the miss station - corrects papers by adding or removing inserts that may have doubled or by pulling all inserts out.
Assists in overall cleaning of the department as well as immediate assigned area to ensure a safe working environment.

The ideal candidates will be strong communicators who can evaluate submissions and discuss cases as they pertain to the patient's history, physical exam and clinical diagnostics. The candidate will be able to complete each submission with a high level of quality, efficiency and professionalism.
The applicant will be a board certified veterinary clinical pathologist who will be able to read and interpret cytology, blood films, urinalysis and other microscopic samples for consult and cytology results in 15-30 minutes / case.
The Position Responsibilities:
The candidate will work remotely and be available for clinical consults based on the hours agreed to.
The candidate will evaluate cytology sample submissions in a timely manner (15-30 minutes).
The candidate will be available to consult with veterinarians on cases as needed.

To be eligible for an Internship, you should be an actively enrolled student who will complete at least one more semester of education following your internship.
You must have a minimum Cumulative GPA (CGPA) of 3.20

**Major Areas of Accountability:**
**Installation & Commissioning**
+ Assist in setting up and configuring equipment at customer sites.
+ Learn safety protocols, compliance standards, and the MTS Corporate and Field Service Quality System.
**Preventive & Corrective Maintenance**
+ Support routine inspections and repairs including calibrations and diagnosing equipment problems to the sub-sections of the systems (i.e. controllers, hydraulics, data acquisition systems, transducers, grips, fixtures, etc.
+ Document service activities and learn diagnostic tools.
**Customer Support & Training**
+ Shadow service engineers during customer interactions to learn the basics about assigned customer base and business activities to optimize customer satisfaction, efficiency of operation, revenue generation, margin levels, and service contract performance.
+ Help deliver basic guidance and support to MTS customers.
**Technical Support & Remote Services**

General Summary of Position: The distribution assistant position will be a part-time position that will assist the district managers on a nightly basis. This position will be required to ensure all contractors have picked up in a timely manner, help on down routes, help verify new starts and stops, help check TMC distribution, verify store delivery when asked, and all other duties as assigned. The hours will be 4-6 hours a night, 5 days per week. Some weekends and holidays will be required.
Primary Responsibilities and Essential Duties:
A. Distribution Centers
Ensure all contractors have picked up their newspapers nightly. Ensure the DC is clear.
Assists with the running of down routes should a contractor not show by a given time.
Follow up with contractors on new starts and stops.
B. Districts
Complete Service Checks on subscriber activity, start, stops, and various delivery issues through field verification and reporting.
Verifies delivery of single copy locations when asked.
Redelivers missed contractor deliveries (Redeliveries) when necessary
Delivers down routes, known ahead of time, when necessary.
Orientates new contractors on routes as necessary
C. Other
Maintains clean and organized distribution center
Performs other tasks as directed by Distribution Director.
