Essential Job Responsibilities
· Complies with ethical, regulatory, procedural and professional standards and practice guidelines as defined by state of licensure.
· Assists the PT in providing physical therapy treatments to residents as determined by the Plan of Care.
· Manages caseload with supervisor by scheduling treatment individually or in groups while maintaining efficiency expectations.
· Instructs resident, family, and caregivers in PT to be continued upon discharge.
· Adheres to PPS guidelines, ensures all PT documentation/treatment conforms to documentation/billing policies and procedures.
· Working with PT, provides oversight and direction of techs and assists in the supervision and education of affiliating students.
· Assists in the assurance that the physical surroundings and equipment are sanitary, orderly and free from conditions that may cause safety hazards.
Residents' Rights Functions
· Maintains resident confidentiality and privacy. Fosters feelings of self worth and respect by treating residents with kindness and understanding.
· Knows and complies with Residents' Bill of Rights. Reports all grievances and resident complaints to administrator and/or Director of Nursing immediately.
· Reports any incident involving rehab staff to RVP immediately.

· Plans and administers medically prescribed physical therapy treatment for patients suffering from injuries, or muscle, nerve, joint and bone diseases, to restore function, relieve pain, and prevent disability
· Reviews physician's referral (prescription) and patient's condition and medical records to determine physical therapy treatment required
· Tests and measures patient's strength, motor development, sensory perception, functional capacity, and respiratory and circulatory efficiency, and records findings to develop or revise treatment programs
· Plans and prepares written treatment program based on evaluation of patient data
· Administers manual exercises to improve and maintain function
· Instructs, motivates, and assists patient to perform various physical activities, such as non-manual exercises, ambulatory functional activities, daily-living activities, and in use of assistant and supportive devices, such as crutches, canes, and prostheses
· Administers treatments involving application of physical agents, using equipment, such as hydrotherapy tanks and whirlpool baths, moist packs, ultraviolet and infrared lamps, and ultrasound machines
· Evaluates effects of treatment at various stages and adjusts treatments to achieve maximum

· Administers traction to relieve pain
· Records treatment, response, and progress in patient's chart or enters information into computer

Working Conditions
Evening and weekend work may be required in order to fit patient schedules. The job is physically demanding. Physical Therapists are required to stand for long periods of time. They spend considerable time stooping, kneeling and crouching. PTs move heavy equipment. They assist with patient transfers and lifts or help them turn, stand or walk. So, to guard against back injury, they must follow proper body mechanics and procedures for lifting/moving patients. Physical Therapists that work in sub-acute or long-term care settings, have patients that need more assistance; therefore, the job is more physically demanding, compared to PTs that work in out-patient settings.

Responsibilities
Position Summary:
This Occupational Therapy Assistant provides occupational therapy services to patients under the supervision of a licensed OccupationalTherapist (OT), ensuring compassionate, high-quality care in accordance with Reliant Rehabilitation standards and the principles of occupational therapy. Foster positive relationships with clients and facility staff while delivering treatment aligned with established plans of care. Responsibilities include ongoing therapy, supervision of Rehab Technicians (as needed), and case management. Uphold professional conduct that reflects Reliant Rehabilitation's commitment to excellence and comply with all applicable state and federal regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
• Support patients in improving functional abilities and independence under the direction of a licensed OT
• Contribute to the development and success of the occupational therapy assistant program
• Strengthen clinical, professional, and leadership skills through collaboration, self-study, and continuing education
• Maintain a valid state license and stay informed on developments in occupational therapy and healthcare
• Understand and apply appropriate billing practices and treatment delivery models to ensure care meets clinical and regulatory standards
• Deliver care that aligns with treatment goals and produces meaningful outcomes
• Follow infection control and environmental safety protocols within the facility
• Demonstrate proficiency in reading, writing, speaking, and understanding English for effective communication and documentation

Duties Responsibilities
The OccupationalTherapist / OT is responsible for the assessment of referred patients that require rehabilitation services which includes: providing direct patient care to assess their medical condition, functional capabilities, limitations and restrictions and potential for rehabilitation.
Also, the OccupationalTherapist / OT will establish and administer a treatment program with specific goals determined according to the patient's capacity and tolerance
Develops a plan of care for each occupational therapy patient.
Provides skilled occupational therapy services / interventions in accordance with physician orders.
Assesses patient needs, plans for, evaluates and modifies care to meet goals of occupational therapy interventions.
Collaborates with all disciplines to plan and evaluate team goals for each patient.

Position Summary
