The Caregiver is responsible for the implementation of resident care by assisting in the activities of daily living, activities, programs, housekeeping and laundry services. The provision of these services must be performed to ensure the health, welfare, safety and independence of our residents as the primary concern. Responsibilities: Assist residents with; activities of daily living, including but not limited to bathing, dressing and grooming, transfers, ambulation, which may include wheelchair mobility Encourage the residents to take an active part in the planned activities. Participate in set up of dining room as directed, serve meals to residents, and assist residents during meal time as needed. Provide laundry services as directed or as needed by a resident. Clean a resident's room on a weekly basis by vacuuming carpets, sweeping and washing tile floors, sanitizing as necessary. Practice safety procedures and comply with the established reporting of incidents, accidents and injuries to associates or residents Complete all training and orientation requirements and attend all in-service training as outlined by State regulations and policies and procedures. Report all changes in resident's status immediately to the charge nurse Maintain local and state certification, if applicable Comply with company policies and procedures Clock in and out on their time card, no sooner than six (6) minutes before or after their scheduled shift. Follow the instructions and supervision of their shift supervisor and will follow the chain of command when solving problems. Call in appropriately to allow their shift to be filled if the need arises. Must call them self unless physically unable to do so and must call in two (2) hours before the shift is to start. Follow resident's rights REPORT ANY OTHER EMPLOYEE THAT IS NOT DOING THEIR JOB OR THAT IS BEING ABUSIVE TOWARD A RESDIENT OR STEALING FROM A RESIDENT OR ANYTHING THAT IS AGAINST THE WORK ETHIC OF REGENCY RETIREMENT VILLAGE. Understands this is an AWAKE facility and that they are required on the night shift to be awake and alert at all times for the safety of the resident and the facility. Understands that to refuse to do an assigned task will result in termination. May be asked to stay extra time or to stay overnight in the facility in winter months if the need arises to help care the for residents in the event of disasters. Will be expected to respond to an emergency call in the event of a disaster, fire or evacuation of the facility. Physical: Requires frequent sitting, standing, bending, reaching, stooping, twisting, pushing, and walking. Must be able to lift at least fifty (50) pounds. Must be able to operate standard housekeeping equipment such as vacuums, mops, etc. Mental: Must be alert and attentive to detail. Able to read, write and follow written instructions. Able to make positive decisions and show good judgment Must present a neat, clean, and professional appearance and demonstrate a positive and cheerful attitude towards other associates and residents and their families Environment: Must understand that they are subject to exposure to hazardous chemicals and infectious substances. During winter weather may be exposed to inclement conditions.

When completing incident forms, do not leave any blanks or leave out significant information. Ensure all checklists and deep cleaning logs are completed on time. Do not be afraid to ask questions. Complete the intershift communication book and verbally communicate pertinent information to the next shift. At the beginning of shift; check the staff communication book for new memos and initial any memos after you have read them. Report all incidents immediately following the proper chain of command. ENVIRONMENTAL CLEANLINESS: Start your shift by completing a walk-through evaluation and addressing any issues. Refer to the daily rounds checklist to ensure everything has been covered. Assist and supervise residents in completion of their chores and/or any cleaning jobs as they arise. Check your shift specific checklists and complete them in a timely manner. FOOD PREPARATION: Prepare meals as dictated by the weekly menu or make appropriate substitutions as necessary with proper clearance from your supervisor. Check the menu and takeout food to thaw for the next day's meals. Appropriately label (time/date, what it is) and store any/all left over food items. Requirements JOB REQUIREMENTS: The following are minimum requirements for each position at MSHN Enterprises LLC: 1. Must be 18 years of age or older 2. Valid Divers license or state ID 3. Successful completion of a drug screen 4. Background results within company standards (i.e. no assault, bodily harm, possession of weapons or drug charge) 5. Must have CPR & First aid or must complete MSHN CPR/first aid class within first thirty days of employment. Certification must be repeated every 2 years. 6.
