This position will be a part of the City of Peoria Social Services Unit (SSU). SSU personnel are tasked with assisting those who come into contact with, or are referred to, the SSU. The other main goal is to refer to, and encourage participation in, appropriate mental health, substance use, or other needs-based services that may fit the individual. These duties are critical to an overall healthier, safer community and are aimed at facilitating more stable community members. This position provides crisis intervention services/assessments/evaluation and stabilization/case management to people in a primarily community-based environment in collaboration with the Peoria Police Department (PPD). This role will include field response into the community in collaboration with the PPD, likely several times per day, to provide mobile mental and behavioral health services to citizens within the city of Peoria, Illinois. Job Description
The Mental Health/Social Work Intern's role is to provide quality care and support to clients and families receiving Skill Sprout services as well as assist in projects and tasks aimed at growing Skill Sprout's innovative therapy programs. Specific responsibilities may include:
• Provide therapy services with Skill Sprout clients within the mental health department, which may include social skills treatment and/or individual, family and group counseling, and/or within the ABA (Applied Behavior Analysis) Program
• Conduct diagnostic clinical intake interviews with clients at the time of the initial service delivery, as needed
• Prepare treatment materials as directed by Consultants
• Assist with training new therapy staff
• Accurately and reliably collect data in therapy sessions as outlined by program procedure
• Provide clinical case coordination services and case management duties, as assigned
• Conduct diagnostic services, such as free screenings and/or mental health assessments, as assigned
• Attend all team meetings and trainings, and complete all necessary paperwork as directed by supervisor or administrative staff

The SDOH (Social Drivers of Health) Undergraduate Intern Program reflects the mission, vision, and values of NM, adheres to the organization's Code of Ethics and Corporate Compliance Program, and complies with all relevant policies, procedures, guidelines and all other regulatory and accreditation standards.
The SDOH Internship Program will support our Patients First mission, as teams from diverse backgrounds bring enriched perspectives to problem-solving and are better equipped to identify gaps in understanding. Interns will participate in the implementation of a SDOH patient screening tool to help meet patient needs, especially focused on patients from underserved populations.
The Undergraduate Intern's responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:

The Mental Health/Social Work Intern's role is to provide quality care and support to clients and families receiving Skill Sprout services as well as assist in projects and tasks aimed at growing Skill Sprout's innovative therapy programs. • Provide therapy services with Skill Sprout clients within the mental health department, which may include social skills treatment and/or individual, family and group counseling, and/or within the ABA (Applied Behavior Analysis) Program
• Conduct diagnostic clinical intake interviews with clients at the time of the initial service delivery, as needed
• Prepare treatment materials as directed by Consultants
• Assist with training new therapy staff
• Accurately and reliably collect data in therapy sessions as outlined by program procedure
• Provide clinical case coordination services and case management duties, as assigned
• Conduct diagnostic services, such as free screenings and/or mental health assessments, as assigned
• Attend all team meetings and trainings, and complete all necessary paperwork as directed by supervisor or administrative staff
