Minimum Requirements:

Position Summary
The Biomedical Technician II completes performance, assurance and safety inspections on medical equipment. He/she will maintain proper documentation in compliance with TJC and other regulatory agencies, and account for 85% of time worked and all parts used. He/she performs maintenance and repairs on medical equipment at outside facilities as needed, and performs maintenance and repairs on medical equipment through VMC. The technician will take call as needed, participate in guest relations, and maintain a clean work environment.
Minimum Requirements
* High School or equivalent, 2 or more years of formal training or education with an advanced diploma or associate degree in electronic technology, electronic servicing, computer engineering, or biomedical engineering.
* Additional experience may be substituted for up to one year of education; additional education may be substituted for up to one year of experience.
* 3-4 years experience as a Biomedical Technician, Electronics Technician, Computer Technician or other related field

Medical Laboratory Technician I (MLT) - Generalist

The Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT) performs clinical laboratory tests by standard operating policies and procedures. Understands method principles, performs quality control & calibrations, performs preventive maintenance, and analyzes results as to accuracy, acceptability and critical limits.
As a MLT, you will:
* Prepare patient specimens as required for laboratory testing and perform laboratory tests specific to department.
* Monitor test results to assure test quality and validity.
* Communicate test results in a timely manner. Enter and retrieve data from laboratory computer systems.
* Clean and maintain laboratory equipment and environment.
* Demonstrate appropriate, caring behavior in the workplace, treating patients, their families, visitors and staff with respect and dignity.
* Works alternate shifts as required.
* Perform other duties as assigned, including, but not limited to, phlebotomy.
Minimum Requirements
Associate degree in Medical Laboratory Technology or currently enrolled in an accredited Clinical Laboratory Science Program (BS) and have completed the specific laboratory rotation (e.g. Chemistry, Hematology, Microbiology, and Transfusion Services). Equivalent laboratory training and/or work experience with the US military (2 years) will meet the education requirement.
Preferred:
Certification as a Medical Laboratory Technician by ASCP or other nationally recognized certifying agency.

* Monday - Thursday (2 pm - 12 am)

ECU Health Chowan Hospital in Edenton is a 25-bed critical access hospital which provides programs and services to 110,000 people in 6 counties. The facility offers medical and surgical services, including intensive care, a specialty care clinic and a dedicated outpatient surgery area with endoscopy capabilities. A 7-bed emergency department serves approximately 15,000 patients per year and team members at the facility have access to a telemedicine link with the Brody School of Medicine at East Carolina University.
