The Levine Cancer Institute and Division of Surgical Oncology, Atrium Health in Charlotte, North Carolina is seeking a Breast Surgical Oncologist with interest and experience in breast care to join the Department of Surgery and the Levine Cancer Institute. Applicants should have a demonstrable interest in teaching and research. The Levine Cancer Institute cares for more than 17,000 cancer patients per year including over 1900 patients with breast cancer. The Soft Tissue/Breast Section of the Division of Surgical Oncology consists of six surgeons caring for patients at three locations in the Charlotte metropolitan area. A fourth location also within the Charlotte metropolitan area will be added in the foreseeable future.
The Levine Cancer Institute consists of 25 locations in North and South Carolina. Over 400 clinical trials are currently underway with more than 1000 publications in the last decade. The Levine Cancer Institute joined with the NCI designated Wake Forest Comprehensive Center in 2023 and now serves as a unified program entitled Atrium Health Levine Cancer. Substantial philanthropic funding exists for the program with dedicated research resources. The Department of Surgery consists of 87 surgeons in 9 Divisions while the Division of Surgical Oncology is made up of 5 sections: Endocrine, Head and Neck, HPB, Gastrointestinal and Soft Tissue/Breast.
