**About this role:**
Carrier Commercial Service is seeking a highly skilled ProjectEngineer to oversee commercial mechanical focused on data centers. This role is responsible for the startup, commissioning, and warranty management of Carrier air- and water-cooled chillers. The Project Manager will work closely with cross-functional teams, including engineering, operations, commissioning authorities, general contractors, and subcontractors.
**_The job sites are located in the Ohio Valley region - including Indiana, Ohio, and Kentucky. Travel from a nearby regional home location is acceptable. Please note that extensive travel, with several weeks spent on-site at the project jobsite, is required._**
**Key Responsibilities:**
Project Execution & Management
+ Lead startup, commissioning, and warranty processes for Carrier air- and water-cooled chillers in newly constructed data centers.
+ Develop and manage comprehensive project plans, ensuring schedules and budgets are met.
+ Track and review key performance indicators (KPIs) to monitor project success.
+ Conduct work in progress meetings with stakeholders, addressing design, material delivery, and labor schedules.
+ Ensure all projects meet or exceed booked profit margin goals.
+ Work with project coordination to order and track all chiller parts needing to be ordered for warranty execution.
Stakeholder & Customer Coordination
+ Collaborate with sales, prime contractors, and end-users to fulfill project scope and deliverables.
+ Serve as the primary liaison representing Carrier between the customer, commissioning authority (CxA), general contractor, and subcontractors, ensuring smooth communication and project progression.
+ Provide professional, timely resolution for customer concerns, ensuring satisfaction with all aspects of project execution.
Technical Expertise & Compliance
+ Interpret and apply mechanical, electrical, and architectural drawings to ensure compliance with design specifications.
+ Ensure adherence to industry codes, standards, and project specifications.
+ Working knowledge of Building Automation System (BAS) integration, ensuring proper controls functionality.
+ Manage the change order process, preventing scope creep and maintaining project integrity.
Financial & Operational Oversight
+ Accurately forecast monthly revenue by estimating project completion costs
+ Manage project documentation, including warranty processing and factory-generated service information in collaboration with our Service Engineering team
+ Maintain rigorous job safety standards across all projects.
**Required Qualifications:**
+ High school diploma or GED.
+ 3+ years of project management experience
+ 3+ years in mechanical installation, building automation, electrical installation, or construction.
+ 3+ years' experience with water- or air-cooled chillers
+ 3+ years of Commercial HVAC expertise, including centrifugal chillers, CDU systems, and airside equipment.
+ Travel Requirement: Up to 75%, with extended stays at data center job sites nationwide.
+ Ability to read and interpret blueprints, structural drawings, and complex MEP (mechanical, electrical, plumbing) documents.
**Preferred Qualifications:**
+ Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Chemical Engineering OR a Master's/MBA.
+ Data center industry experience with water- or air-cooled chillers.
+ Commercial HVAC expertise, including centrifugal chillers, CDU systems, and airside equipment.

Participates in project coordination meetings.
Ensures adherence to insurance, safety, labor relations, EEO and tax regulations.
Monitors and ensures quality control.
Works with Safety Director to ensure jobs have safe working conditions and safe work practices are in place.
Establishes and maintains positive relationships with key owners and architects.
Accountable for project completion and financials, Critical Success Factors, Customer Satisfaction Results.
Directs and ensures timely completion of project close-out activities.

Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in construction management, Engineering, Architecture, or related field.

POSITION OVERVIEW
The Project Manager is responsible for managing and coordinating multiple construction projects from inception to completion. About the role:
Join a team that's shaping the future of smart, sustainable buildings across our North Region. As a Building Automation Systems (BAS) Engineer Intern, you'll support the design of intelligent systems that improve energy efficiency, occupant comfort, and operational performance in schools, hospitals, government buildings, and commercial spaces.
You'll be part of a collaborative, innovation-driven team with opportunities to contribute to a wide variety of projects while gaining hands-on experience in real-world building technologies.
In this role, you'll assist with the design and documentation of building automation systems. This includes developing wiring diagrams, point layouts, control sequences, hardware selections, and integration strategies. You'll work closely with internal teams to ensure all systems meet project specifications, industry standards, and customer expectations.
Key Responsibilities:
System Design & Development
Assist in the hardware design of building automation systems, including the sizing and selection of sensors, actuators, valves, and related components.
Support the development and implementation of software programs for building automation systems.
Assist in the creation of graphical user interfaces (GUIs) for system visualization and control.
Participate in the testing and verification of building automation programming and interfaces prior to field implementation.
Ensure adherence to project specifications, internal engineering standards, and customer preferences.
Documentation & Reporting
Maintain and update as-built documentation, including drawings and system details, using Microsoft Visio, Excel, and Word.
Help prepare technical documentation, including system architecture diagrams, test reports, and installation guides.
Complete required documentation in a timely and accurate manner, including timesheets, expense reports, work order postings, site documentation, and project status updates.
Collaboration & Communication
Collaborate with project teams to communicate design revisions and raise any technical concerns as they arise.
Coordinate daily activities and project updates with engineering supervisors and lead engineers.
Track and report on project progress, keeping lead project personnel informed on key milestones and deliverables.
Basic Qualifications:
Must be currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Building Automation, Mechanical, Electrical, Electronics, or Computer Science
GPA must be greater than or equal to 3.0 GPA
Must be eligible to work in the US without Sponsorship
Preferred Qualifications:
Basic understanding of HVAC systems, electrical systems, computer science, or building automation principles.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Visio, Outlook).
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively in a project-based environment.
Willingness to learn and take initiative in solving engineering challenges.
Prior experience in HVAC and/or building automation.
Familiarity with AutoCAD, Bluebeam, or other drafting tools.
Exposure to programming or scripting (e.g., line code, ladder logic, block programming). Experience with controls hardware (e.g., sensors, actuators, relays) or hands-on technical projects.
Pay Range:
The salary for this position is between $36,750- $127,500 annually.
