The Director will also be primarily responsible for heading up the daily relationship between Ipsen and its 3PL provider in all functions related to Trade customer needs, as well as any health care and patient needs that fall under the influence control of the 3PL.Critical to the successful execution of this role and the business relationship management is the ongoing collaboration and involvement of key stakeholders in understanding the validity and confidence of monthly forecasting, sales trends, and marketing initiatives to support the coordination of Supply Chain activities and to validate assumptions about demand forecasts.     The Senior Manager of Commercial Strategic Sourcing will help lead and manage sourcing for commercial services. The Senior Manager of Commercial Strategic Sourcing will execute the Sourcing process at Otsuka for Media Planning & Buying, Marketing Agencies, Trade Shows, Market Research, and Patient Support and Promotions. The Senior Manager of Commercial Strategic Sourcing will also partner with the FP&A teams to understand the future investment plans from the business and identify cost optimization opportunities through strategic sourcing and leading category management practices, maximizing value and minimizing risks for Otsuka. **** The Senior Manager of Commercial Strategic Sourcing will execute on Sourcing strategies defined by Commercial Sourcing Services leadership. Responsibilities include the following areas: **Overall Responsibility** + At the direction of Sourcing leadership, executes on a Sourcing vision and strategy that aligns with the needs of the business while meeting financial and operational control objectives for Commercial. + Manage relationships with key vendors that enables operational continuous improvements and innovation. + Tracks and monitor sourcing policies and process compliance, ensure any exceptions and deviations are reported. + Creates excellence through consistent, high-quality outcomes. + Identify continuous improvement opportunities within process area. + Works with Sourcing leadership to drive 10-15% annual savings within in-scope spend areas. + Provides support for significant sourcing activities including negotiation of contracts with highest value / highest impact to the company. Several of these contracts will be more than $100M. **Strategic Sourcing Vision, Strategy, and Objectives** + Executes against a common vision and strategy for Strategic Sourcing at Otsuka. Partners with Business leaders and other key stakeholders to gain their perspectives and endorsement of the vision and strategy. + Produces measurements of success (KPIs) and appropriate processes to capture, consolidate and report on sourcing performance and outcome versus objectives. + Provides regular reporting of overall sourcing initiatives and their progress, including issues, risks, and other important observations to ELT, Business Leaders, and Stakeholders. **Strategic Sourcing Process and Policy** + Provides appropriate training across the organization on the importance of following Sourcing policies and processes. + Ensures appropriate controls are in place to meet regulatory requirements (i.e. J-sox, Third Party Risk Management, etc.) + Ensures best practices in Sourcing including accurate spend analysis, usage of RFx tools and templates, contract management, establishment of Preferred Supplier Programs, and ensuring all sourcing savings are realized into the financials. **Strategic Sourcing Execution** + Perform daily activities related to sourcing projects including the development of RFx strategy and on-going contract negotiations. + Develops operational metrics to ensure continuous monitoring and process improvement across all sourcing projects and reports them to Sourcing leadership. + Ensure all assigned sourcing projects have clear objectives including financial and operational benefits, aligned with business stakeholders. + Partners with Business Owners and Financial Operations, and other key process owners to ensure project timelines are met. **Organizational Design and Development** + Actively seeks development of sourcing and financial capabilities. **Qualifications/ Required** Knowledge/ Experience and Skills: **Qualifications** Knowledge + Experience with Sourcing strategies within the Pharmaceutical Commercial category; demonstrated expertise in the discipline. + Experience running sourcing projects. + Experience interacting with senior level clients and vendors. + Evaluating and developing procurement strategies to maximize efficiency and minimize cost with minimal oversight. + Proficient on practices for negotiating supplier contracts that lead to the greatest value for money for the organization. + Demonstrated proficiency in launching and managing financial KPI's for Sourcing. + Understands key financial and operational controls needed to run a Sourcing organization in the Pharmaceutical industry. Position Summary The Director of Procurement is hands-on role with accountabilities focusing on price negotiation, supplier relationships, procurement process management along with coordinating with sales regarding forecasting demand. The Director builds scalable procurement processes, drives cost optimization, and partners closely with operational leaders across the hub to maintain uninterrupted supply flow.1. Strategy and Planning Define the purchasing/procurement strategy aligned with overall company goals. Establish policies for sourcing, supplier management, and risk mitigation. Oversee the purchasing budget and ensure financial compliance. Plan for supply chain optimization, focusing on efficiency, cost reduction, and quality. 2. Supplier Management Select and evaluate strategic suppliers. Negotiate high-value contracts and framework agreements. Implement supplier development programs to ensure innovation and sustainability. Monitor supplier performance and track strategic KPIs. 3. Leadership and Team Management Supervise purchasing managers and team leads, ensuring policies are executed effectively. Develop and mentor talent within the procurement team. Promote a culture of efficiency, ethics, and transparency. 4. Innovation and Continuous Improvement Introduce procurement technologies: ERP systems, e-procurement, data analytics. Implement sustainable and responsible sourcing processes. Identify opportunities for cost reduction and process optimization. 5. Reporting and Corporate Relations Report directly to CEO or executive management on results, risks, and opportunities in procurement. Collaborate with other strategic departments: finance, production, logistics, and quality. Represent the company in international negotiations or with key global suppliers. Qualifications Education & Experience Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Business Administration, Pharmacy Operations, or related field required; advanced degree preferred. 7+ years of experience in procurement, supply chain, or pharmacy operations, with at least 3 years in a leadership role. Experience in pharmacy hubs, healthcare supply chains, or high-volume fulfillment environments strongly preferred. Skills & Competencies Experience working in pharmaceutical, cosmetic, chemical, food, automotive production industry. Experience managing purchasing for a $100M+ organization is highly desirable Demonstrated success in contract negotiation, vendor management, and cost-containment strategies. Excellent analytical, organizational, and financial management skills. Strong leadership presence with the ability to influence cross-functional teams in a fast-paced environment.
