The therapist will provide mental health care in the office, home, school and/or community setting for individuals of any age with special emphasis on children, adolescents and teens. Program Statement: Catholic Charities' Outpatient Mental Health Program is hiring an experienced, communicative and compassionate individual to serve as a therapist for our Ashland office. The individual will serve a wide range of people of various ages. The program offers creative treatment for children from preschool age through high school and their families of Ashland County to enhance their strengths while treating each individual with professionalism and respect. The youth served may have experience severe trauma with abuse and/or neglect. Referrals may come from a variety of sources such as Children Services, Juvenile Court, schools, pediatricians or others. We are a faith-based organization that provides professional services without regard to a person's personal belief system and are certified by the Ohio Department of Mental Health and Addiction Services. We provide comprehensive clinical assessments for mental health and/or substance abuse. What you will be doing: Apply evidence-based practices to help those we serve to achieve positive outcomes. Provide trauma informed care to clients that may have abused/neglected. Meet/exceed all productivity and notes/clinical documentation requirements (and other professional and operating standards) as defined by our organization, licensing, and accrediting bodies. Foster a supportive environment by developing therapeutic relationships with those we serve and strong professional relationships with our colleagues and leadership. Provide timely communication with referral sources and program funders. Provide excellent care to children and their families in the office, home, school and/or community setting as clinically indicated. Services may be offered individually or in a group setting. This position will also assist with our youth mentoring program that focuses on substance use prevention. Requirements: Combination of education and experience normally represented by a master's degree in social work, Counseling or Psychology. Must have LSW or LPC. Current certification in First Aid and CPR, as needed per program requirements. Must have knowledge and utilization of community resources depending on clients served. Must be able to form good working and therapeutic relationships. In this role, you'll be responsible for delivering a full array of therapeutic interventions (Trauma Informed Care, Family Therapy, and Group Therapy) in a school based setting in the Greater Cincinnati region . A typical day will include: completing intakes and diagnostic assessments, providing counseling/therapy services to children and their families, completing all required documentation in a timely and compliant manner, updating ISP's, and partnering with internal and external providers to perform case coordination. Qualifications Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Social Work (MSW), Counseling, Marriage & Family Therapy or related area and active LSW/LPC licensure required for Therapist role. 1-3+ years of experience providing counseling and psychotherapy to children experiencing emotional and or behavioral problems, as well as their families. This could come from internship experience. Previous experience providing counseling and psychotherapy to children in a school based setting is desired.
