**Job Summary and Responsibilities** + Specimen handling and processing including gross, embed, cut, stain and coverslip specimens for microscopic evaluation by the surgeon following established policies and procedures. + Prepare and evaluate stains, reagents and solutions necessary for slide prep following established policies and procedures. + Perform quality control and preventative maintenance procedures to assure instruments, stains and procedures are within acceptable standards by taking corrective action if necessary and notifying lab director/licensed health care practitioner. + Assist with quality assurance and proficiency testing following established policies and procedures. 5.
