Hi. Dr. David Park here. I know I just threw a whole bunch of stats and data at you up there, but I wanted to explain pretty much the goal and the achievable result for the dental ownership position.
I guess I was a little different than most - I just wanted to own my own dental practice as soon as I got out. Any mistakes or systems that I'd make would be faster that way. I also knew that the upside of ownership would be much better than the alternative, which is associate dentist. Ownership would provide me financial freedom, being my own boss, keeping any profits that the practice made and, eventually, creating systems so that I could eventually hire people and sit back and operate the business.
And so, I graduated and started my career as an owner dentist. Though there was an issue - student loans. I don't know how much you have, but I had some crazy amount like $550,000. Not only that, but my wife had about $500,000 as well (she's also a dentist).
But that's not the scary part. The scary part is the interest. I was in the IBR program where you pay like the absolute minimum. And that's when it hit me. While I was paying the minimum, my principal balance kept going up. I did this for about 3 years without truly knowing what was going on. So yeah, I was making money and invested into real estate, but decided to just pay off over a million dollars in student loans.
The point I'm trying to make is that being an associate dentist isn't what it used to be. Associates have student loans they have to pay (probably the biggest one), car loans, rent / mortgage, family, life, and the cycle goes on and on.
And that's precisely why I'm trying to let as many associate docs know the value of ownership and opportunity cost.
Though we averaged a little over 5 mil for our practices, the top owner doc produced $8,864,788 for the year of 2024. I guess he was impressed by the system, so he took over another CLD practice… and this is the doc that became an owner doc after 8 months of graduation. And to complete the range, the bottom number is $1,958,239 while we had one full time and one part time doc on site (four days a week). I own this practice, but didn't have to work in it the whole year and still made this much. These are truly achievable results because, well, we did it and you can come to meet us whenever. And yes, it sounds too good to be true because I feel it too as I'm writing this. But you'll just have to see it for yourself. We're a legit company and we're here.

1. Under supervision, provide a safe, protected environment. Assist with washroom chores, snacks brought into the Kids Core; maintain order and cleanliness standards according to policies.
2. Promote and maintain a clean, healthy physical environment within the Kids Core areas of responsibility. Maintain toys and equipment and provide recommendations regarding purchase. Ensure children do not leave the Kids Core unattended and that the room(s) are never unattended with children present.
3. When there are no children in the room, assume responsibility for cleaning and organizing, updating of displays and other duties in need of attention.
4. Care for specific and personal needs of each child. Includes providing comfort and consistent affection and discipline. Encourage uplifting interaction and activity; understand and promote individuality.
5. Be available to all children arriving and leaving, and assist parents with the sign-in and sign out procedures. Understand the fee structure for Kids Core usage and ensure adequate payment for these services.
6. Maintain a friendly and open rapport with parents. Communicate important information concerning children to parents. Contact parents whose children affect the health of other children or place too much demand on the provider.
This is a casual part time role. Shifts will be from 8am - 7pm working weekdays & weekends.

Under the supervision of the Group Fitness Director, the Water Exercise Instructor is responsible for instructing, coaching and leading Water Exercise group classes in a safe, enjoyable, positive and inclusive environment that welcomes people of all skill and fitness levels. Effectively builds community within the class. Modify class as needed to meet varied health, ability and cultural needs.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Leads energizing, fun, safe, and educational water fitness classes, as directed by the supervisor.
Assists class participants with exercise techniques.
Builds effective, authentic relationships with members; helps members connect with each other and the YMCA.
Includes a warm up, main body, cool down and stretch in all classes.
Monitors perceived rate of exertion of all participants and can gear classes to the variety of participants in the class and give alternatives to fit the different levels of ability within a class.
Takes out and puts away class equipment and reports any damaged equipment to the supervisor.
Instructs participants about general wellness information and correct body form while exercising.
Keeps classes fresh by incorporating new music, exercises, movements or patterns to classes.
Performs all other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:
Minimum 18 years of age.
Fitness instructor and/or swim instructor experience preferred.
Able to motivate and encourage individuals through positive attitudes and enthusiasm.
Basic knowledge of the components and techniques for teaching fitness classes.
Must possess a valid driver's license.
CERTIFICATIONS:
1. Bloodborne Pathogens/Child Abuse Prevention every year
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
Able to perform all water exercises.
Must have the physical, visual, and auditory ability to perform the essential functions of the job in loud and humid environments.
While performing the duties of this job the employee is required to: bend, stoop, kneel, twist, reach, stand, lift up to 50lbs, grasp, perform repetitive motions, talk and hear.
