Job DescriptionChildren's Therapy Place, Inc. is currently recruiting for a Pediatric Speech-LanguagePathologist for our Boise clinic. Children's Therapy Place is a full-service outpatient pediatric therapy practice with locations in the Treasure Valley and Magic Valley. Our clinics provide Speech and Language Therapy, Occupational Therapy, Physical Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, and behavioral and developmental support through our Developmental Disabilities Agency.

What you'll do:
Provides Speech Therapy services to clients and initiates referrals when appropriate and in accordance with Speech Therapy Department procedures.
Evaluates clients to obtain data necessary for treatment planning and implementation. Conducts specialized evaluations as indicated.
Develops treatment plans by identifying a problem list, including short and long term goals and methods to achieve identified goals.
Implements and conducts treatment plan as outlined in treatment plan.
Monitors client's response to intervention and modifies treatment as indicated to attain goals.
Documents results of clients' assessment, treatment, follow-up, and termination of services.
Adapts treatment to meet the individual needs of the client.
Recommends and obtains appropriate equipment to improve client's communication. Instructs client and family in use of augmentative communication devices.
Instructs client and family in appropriate speech-language procedures or home program to allow carry over of therapeutic remediation and goals in daily activities.

* ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
* Tests, evaluates, treats, diagnoses and prescribes treatment for patients experiencing speech, language, cognition, swallowing and/or communication disorders.
* Provides a full range of diagnostic, counseling and rehabilitative services.
* Assists in the development and maintenance of policies, procedures, protocols to enhance patient outcomes.
* Performs other duties as assigned.
* LICENSES AND/OR CERTIFICATIONS
* Current state licensure as a Speech-LanguagePathologist.
* Provisional license acceptable during Clinical Fellowship; must obtain Virginia license upon completion.
* Current Certification of Clinical Competence through the American Speech-Language, Hearing Associations (ASHA); or if in Clinical Fellowship, must obtain upon completion.
* MINIMUM EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
* Master's degree in speech-pathology/communication disorders.
* Knowledge of speech-language pathology principles and theories.
* Knowledge and experience in the administration of a variety of assessment tools, treatment plans and equipment associated with communication, language and oral-motor disorder.
* Ability to meet on call requirements of department.
* WORKING CONDITIONS
* Expected to work in a patient care environment with minimal exposure to environmental hazards such as, but not limited to, excessive noise, dust, or extremes in temperatures. Exposure to communicable diseases and moderately adverse working conditions due to the need to perform certain patient care activities can be expected.

Minimum Job Requirements
Master's Degree in Speech-Language Pathology
Speech/LanguagePathologist State of Florida license or Provisional Florida licensure - maintain active and in good standing throughout employment
American Heart Association BLS - maintain active and in good standing throughout employment
Level II Finger printing background and Good Moral Character Affidavit must be initiated within 15 days of hire date and finalized within 90 days of hire date
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
2 years minimum of pediatric experience preferred.
FLASHA membership preferred.
Pediatric internship strongly preferred.
Certification of Clinical Competence by the ASHA or CFY candidate.
Ability to appropriately interact with patients, parents/guardians, and healthcare professionals in all work related situations.
Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
Able to maintain confidentiality of sensitive information.
Analytical ability necessary to evaluate patient condition, to interpret, analyze data, assess patient progress, and determine appropriate follow-up.
At least 2 years of experience necessary to treat infants (0-15 months) independently as determined by meeting departmental clinical competencies established for SpeechLanguage Pathology.
