Capabilities:
Design and develop automated analytic software, techniques and algorithms
Perform requirements analysis, software development, installation, integration, evaluation, testing, and problem diagnosis/resolution
Develop, maintain, and enhance complex and diverse Big-Data cloud systems Modify software and algorithms designed for traditional environments to operate in cloud environments
Provide support to platforms and services based on Amazon Web Services (AWS) or other commercial cloud hosting environments
Provide support to platforms and services running in Kubernetes Orchestration Platform
Support the transition of operational systems and applications from traditional platforms to containerized/serverless environments
Maintain and integrate software into Continuous Integration / Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) pipelines
Support operational systems utilizing Kubernetes Orchestration Platform
Provide specific input to the software components of system design to include hardware/software trade-offs, software reuse, use of Commercial Off the-shelf (COTS)/Government Off- the-shelf (GOTS)
Qualifications:
Eight (8) years of general experience in software development/engineering, including requirements analysis, software development, installation, integration, evaluation, enhancement, maintenance, testing, and problem diagnosis/resolution.
A bachelor's degree may be substituted for four (4) years of general experience.
Shall have at least six (6) years of experience developing software with languages such as Java, C, C++
Shall have at least four (4) years of experience with distributed scalable Big Data Store (NoSQL), such as HBase, CloudBase/Accumulo, Big Table, etc., as well as four (4) years of experience with the Map Reduce programming model, the Distributed File System (HDFS), and technologies such as Hadoop, Hive, Pig, etc.
Shall have demonstrated work experience with Serialization, such as JSON and/or BSON. Shall have demonstrated work experience with developing restful services and Ruby on Rails framework
Shall have at least three (3) years of experience developing software in UNIX/Linux (Red Hat versions 3-5+) operating systems
Shall have demonstrated work experience in the design and developmet of at least one Object Oriented system
Shall have at least three (3) years of experience in software integration and software testing, to include developing and implementing test plans and test scripts
Desired Additional Skills:
-Experience deploying applications in a cloud environment
