JOB SUMMARY:
The Specialty Pharmacy Technician supports the operations of a specialty pharmacy by assisting the pharmacist with the preparation, processing, and dispensing of specialty medications (e.g. hepatitis C, HIV). This role focuses on ensuring timely and accurate prescription fulfillment while maintaining compliance with regulatory requirements. The Specialty Pharmacy Technician plays a key role in coordinating patient care via patient-facing interactions and via the specialty pharmacy call center. Additional responsibilities include benefits investigation, obtaining prior authorizations, initiating patient assistance, managing inventory, coordinating medication delivery, and facilitating communication between providers, patients, and insurance companies.
MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Specialty Pharmacy Workflow:
· Process and fill specialty medication prescriptions under the supervision of a specialty pharmacist
· Conduct benefits investigations and obtain prior authorizations, working closely with insurance companies and providers
· Manage specialty medication inventory ensuring proper storage, handling, and tracking
· Document and maintain thorough records of patient interactions for regulatory compliance
· Assist with quality assurance programs and ensure adherence to all federal, state, and local regulations
· Stay up to date on new specialty pharmacy regulations and company policies
Specialty Pharmacy Call Center Workflow:
· Serve as the primary point of contact by answering inbound calls from patients, providers, and pharmacy staff members regarding prescriptions and pharmacy services
· Process specialty prescription refill requests and verify patient information
· Coordinate patient follow-ups to monitor adherence and address concerns
· Provide patients with updates on prescription status and delivery timelines
· Escalate clinical issues, beyond the scope of a pharmacy technician, to the specialty pharmacist when necessary
· Work closely with internal pharmacy staff to resolve medication-related concerns
· Assist with outbound calls for prescription reminders and follow-ups as needed
In-House Pharmacy Workflow:
· Assist in-house pharmacy staff with general, retail-style pharmacy workflow and tasks in the event pharmacy technician coverage is needed
· Accurately enter prescription drug data into pharmacy operating system
· Processing patient transactions, including ringing up purchases and handling payments
Communication:
· Treats patients, co-workers, and clinic staff in a respectful and confidential manner.
· Able to respond to the requests of patients, co-workers, clinic staff requests in a courteous and timely manner
· Understands and adheres to patient confidentiality practices and procedures, and will hold themselves accountable to ensuring patient privacy
Regulatory / Record Compliance:
· Engages in quality assurance activities to support specialty pharmacy operations and patient care
· Accurately document required information in an efficient and timely manner to support seamless patient care and with adherence specialty pharmacy regulation and compliance

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
Requirements:
High School Diploma or GED
Tennessee state Pharmacy Technician licensure in good standing
Pharmacy Technician Certification (PTCB or equivalent) in good standing
Strong knowledge of pharmacy calculations and sig codes, and commonly prescribed medications
Minimum of 1 year of experience in a specialty pharmacy setting
Minimum of 2 years of experience in any of the follow settings: retail pharmacy, hospital pharmacy, or pharmacy call center
Basic knowledge and navigational skills of Microsoft Office programs (Microsoft Teams, Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.)
Strong problem-solving and investigative skills
Strong customer service and verbal and written communication skills
Desired Experience:
Proficiency in navigating TherigySTM specialty pharmacy management software highly preferred
Proficiency in eClinicalWorks highly preferred
Proficiency in PioneerRx pharmacy software highly preferred
Proficiency in navigating prior authorization hub CoverMyMeds and experience in prior authorization processing
Previous call center experience preferably in a healthcare and/or pharmacy setting
Preferred Bachelors and/or post graduate degree

WORKING CONDITIONS/PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
Work is performed in a structured pharmacy setting. Physical demands include being required to walk throughout the clinic, pharmacy, lifting items up to 20 pounds, experiencing long periods of sitting and standing, and frequent use of computer, keyboard, headset, and phone.
INCLEMENT WEATHER POLICY
In the event of inclement weather, the Specialty Pharmacy Technician may be expected to provide call center and pharmacy support virtually. Appropriate equipment will be provided in order for tasks such as receiving inbound calls, prescription inputting, etc. to be performed remotely.

The Clearance Specialist is responsible for processing new referrals including but not limited to verifying patient eligibility, test claim adjudication, coordination of benefits, and identifying patient estimated out of pocket costs. SPECIALIST-IN-TRAINING MODEL:
Our Specialist-in-Training model is a transitional plan of training, typically six months, that is meant for Licensed Providers who need additional training within their program's area of specialization prior to being considered a specialist in that area of practice. Generally, the Specialist-in-Training time consists of: a reduced minimum caseload with weekly supervision; assigned reading; didactic sessions to discuss the readings and receive additional education; increased conceptualization in treatment plans reviewed by your supervisor; attendance of open supervision and discussion of other SLBMI programs that may be part of your training time. Other types of activities may be possible which would enhance your skills as a clinician in general, as well as within your specialty area.
For both models, revenue generated by your cases that exceed your base salary guarantee will still be assigned to you, allowing you opportunity to earn greater than your minimum base salary.

Qualifications
Interested applicants must have completed a Master's or doctoral degree in a clinical mental health field (e.g. MSW, Professional Counselor, Ph.D) AND be fully licensed by the State of Missouri to practice independently.

When surgical instruments are sharpened and working properly, surgeons can focus on providing the best care for their patients. STERIS offers a variety of repair solutions to meet the needs of the Customer including onsite mobile repair services, in house repair lab services, or one of five national repair centers.
You do not have to have previous instrument repair experience to be considered.
This is an entry level job - we will train you!
In this position, you will perform surgical instrument inspection, repair, and refurbishment in an in-house repair lab at Brigham & Women's Hospital.
This position may require occasional overnight travel.
This role requires occasional travel by driving a company vehicle. If offered this position, STERIS will run a 7 year driving record check, as part of our onboarding process.
This is a remote-based customer facing position. To support and service our customers in this assigned territory candidates must be based out of Massachusetts.
Please Note: The schedule for this position is Monday - Friday from 11:30am to 8pm. (During the first 90 days, the schedule will be temporarily adjusted to 7:30 to 3pm for training purposes.)
What You Will Do As a Repair Tech 1
* Perform basic to intermediate inspection and repairs on surgical instrumentation using grinding wheels, buffing wheels, various hand and power tools, soldering, etc. Complexity of repairs and level of intricacy will vary.
* You will work in the field on a mobile repair truck, inside a repair lab or inside a hospital, based on the needs of the Customer within the assigned territory.
* Provide invoicing and documentation based on business need.
* Provide support various locations within assigned territory depending on the service agreements, Customer needs, and staffing levels.

The Experience, Skills, and Abilities Needed
High school diploma or GED required
2+ years of work experience, including at least 1 year of relevant experience*, or 1 year of experience at STERIS. All experience must be verifiable.
Must be able to meet flexible schedules with early/late hours and occasional overnight/out of state travel, based on Customer and business needs.
Must be able to pass a DOT medical/ physical exam and comply with all DOT regulations.
Must have a valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record (CDL not required) and maintain required vaccines.
Ability to drive DOT regulated vehicle and conduct basic box truck safety checks.
Must be at least 21 years old to meet the FMCSA age requirement for commercial interstate driving.
Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds at times and push instrument carts ranging from 10-150 pounds at times.
Must be able to be compliant with hospital/customer credentialing requirements
What is relevant work experience?
Hands-on repair, assembly, or product testing and use of small hand tools is a plus. Examples are small engine repair, cell phone and electronics repair, testing, or re-builds, carpentry, circuit board assembly and repair, sterile processing, industrial sewing, and jewelry repair. Maintenance, construction, welding, fabrication, and automotive repair can also be relevant.

Pay range for this opportunity is $24.00 - $27.00/hour. This position is eligible for bonus participation.
Minimum pay rates offered will comply with county/city minimums, if higher than range listed. Pay rates are based on a number of factors, including but not limited to local labor market costs, years of relevant experience, education, professional certifications, foreign language fluency, etc.

GENERAL STATEMENT OF JOB
This position is within the Member and Recipient Services Department at Vaya Health. The Member and Recipient Services Clinician is responsible for providing an array of functions to assist consumers in receiving clinically appropriate assessments and services. Telephone calls come to the unit via a 1-800 number from members, recipients, families, agencies, organizations, professionals and others within Vaya's catchment area. The Behavioral Health Crisis service line operates 24 hours per day, seven days per week, 365 days per year and the employee is subject to working holidays and holiday rotation as deemed necessary by the business.
The primary purpose of the position is to provide telephone screening and triage for callers and families who are seeking mental health, substance abuse, or developmental disability services. The unit assesses the nature of the caller's situation, determines the urgency of the caller's need, and makes a referral to the most appropriate service available based on the caller's location and insurance plan.
Duties include linking callers to needed services within clinically appropriate time frames, including telephonic clinical triage and referral which includes a determination of need for urgent or emergent services. In addition to providing clinical support the position will also directly handle any telephonic requests for services at times of heavy call volume.
The employee works productively and efficiently with a wide variety of consumers, families, agencies, professionals, law enforcement and others in the community. Callers may be in distress or in emergency or crisis situations requiring speedy assessment and intervention. Some callers are at risk to harm themselves or others and this risk must be accurately assessed. The high volume of calls requires the employee to balance the need to do a careful and accurate telephone assessment of the consumer's need and situation, with the need to be efficient in the use of time to complete the screening and triage interaction. The employee develops and maintains the knowledge and skills necessary to accurately assess and refer consumers from all disability areas, and also maintains a good working knowledge of resources available throughout Vaya's entire catchment area.
Note: This position requires access to and use of confidential healthcare information or protected health information (PHI) as described in laws addressing patient confidentiality, including, but not limited to, the federal HIPAA law, the Confidentiality of Alcohol and Substance Abuse Patient Records law, 42 CFR Part 2, and various state laws. As such, the individual filling this position shall be required to be trained regarding such laws and shall be required to observe those laws in his/her capacity as an employee of Vaya Health. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
Handle telephonic requests for services, respond to member and recipient calls, and provide requested information:
Member and Recipient Svcs Clinician perform clinical screening, triage and referral to callers needing services, answer and provide disposition to service request calls at times of heavy call volume, and handle crisis calls in the Member and Recipient Services Call Center. Member and Recipient Svcs Clinicians triage calls for urgency and facilitate access to crisis services when risk indicators are present. Where safety is at risk, the employee initiates immediate intervention via law enforcement or emergency medical assistance. Member and Recipient Svcs Clinicians will provide information and educate callers about the involuntary commitment process, as appropriate based on assessment of risk.
The employee provides brief crisis interventions and/or support when indicated to facilitate the assessment process, encourages compliance, addresses safety issues, etc. Clinical functions are performed by the Member and Recipient Services Clinicians.
Member & Recipient Svcs Clinician will inquire about the caller's needs, determine clinical urgency, review and confirm member and recipient eligibility, collect necessary demographic information, offer choice of available providers based upon the consumers request and service needs, and schedule appointments within established access time standards.
The Member & Recipient Svcs Clinician will inform a Member Services Manager and/or appropriate Network Development staff of gaps and needs associated with trends that are detected within the services system for timely analysis and resolution.
For information calls, this position will provide information about Vaya, the Vaya provider network, community resources, and about Medicaid services in the State of NC. Member & Recipient Svcs Clinician shall receive extensive training on customer services skills such as the use of appropriate tone, cadence, inflection, and choice of recovery oriented and/or person-centered wording. All Member and Recipient Services Representatives must adhere to NCMT Call Grading Rubric provided by NCDHHS.
This position requires a high degree of communication skills and professionalism with various parties- members, recipients, providers, vendors, community organizations, legal guardians, and more. The Member and Recipient Svcs Clinician will complete warm transfers and linkages to a variety of different parties to assist the caller with correct linkage.
Documentation in the electronic information system:
The Member & Recipient Svcs Clinician completes call notes, forms, reports and other documentation as required. The Member and Recipient Services Clinician will complete required documentation at the time of call. This position requires a high degree of technical skills with utilization of multiple systems/logins throughout a phone call.
Specialized projects and reviews:
The Member & Recipient Svcs Clinician will assist in specialized Member Services Departmental projects as requested by the Member and Recipient Services Managers or Directors, and/or the Vice President of Member and Recipient Services.

Comprehensive knowledge of resources and the ability to use a personal workstation.
Knowledge of databases and data entry is essential. A degree alone does not prepare an applicant for this position. Experience providing mental health, substance abuse, or intellectual/ developmental disabilities services are essential. This employee should have knowledge of individual and group dynamics, and will learn de-escalation of telephonic situations, and a thorough knowledge risk indicators. Considerable knowledge of governmental and private organizations and resources in the community is beneficial. Considerable knowledge of the laws, regulations, and policies that govern MCO operations is beneficial. Skill in establishing rapport with staff/consumers in discussing their issues in a sensitive, supportive and nonjudgmental way is necessary. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with community members and provider agency staff is necessary.

Master's degree in a Human Services field (such as Psychology, Social Work, etc.) and at least two (2) years of post-degree-progressive experience providing services in the population served OR graduation from a State accredited school of nursing and two years of experience in psychiatric nursing which provides the knowledge, skills, and abilities needed to perform the work; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Must possess a current and valid professional license or certificate in North Carolina; or possess a current and valid license or certificate from another state or be certified by the national accrediting body appropriate to their profession. (URAC HCC 5)
Experience in the public mental health field and a thorough understanding of the services available in the catchment area is highly desired due to the complexity of the work of the organization. The Specialty Pharmacy Technician supports the operations of a specialty pharmacy by assisting the pharmacist with the preparation, processing, and dispensing of specialty medications (e.g. hepatitis C, HIV). This role focuses on ensuring timely and accurate prescription fulfillment while maintaining compliance with regulatory requirements. The Specialty Pharmacy Technician plays a key role in coordinating patient care via patient-facing interactions and via the specialty pharmacy call center. Additional responsibilities include benefits investigation, obtaining prior authorizations, initiating patient assistance, managing inventory, coordinating medication delivery, and facilitating communication between providers, patients, and insurance companies.
MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Specialty Pharmacy Workflow:
· Process and fill specialty medication prescriptions under the supervision of a specialty pharmacist
· Conduct benefits investigations and obtain prior authorizations, working closely with insurance companies and providers
· Manage specialty medication inventory ensuring proper storage, handling, and tracking
· Document and maintain thorough records of patient interactions for regulatory compliance
· Assist with quality assurance programs and ensure adherence to all federal, state, and local regulations
· Stay up to date on new specialty pharmacy regulations and company policies
Specialty Pharmacy Call Center Workflow:
· Serve as the primary point of contact by answering inbound calls from patients, providers, and pharmacy staff members regarding prescriptions and pharmacy services
· Process specialty prescription refill requests and verify patient information
· Coordinate patient follow-ups to monitor adherence and address concerns
· Provide patients with updates on prescription status and delivery timelines
· Escalate clinical issues, beyond the scope of a pharmacy technician, to the specialty pharmacist when necessary
· Work closely with internal pharmacy staff to resolve medication-related concerns
· Assist with outbound calls for prescription reminders and follow-ups as needed
In-House Pharmacy Workflow:
· Assist in-house pharmacy staff with general, retail-style pharmacy workflow and tasks in the event pharmacy technician coverage is needed
· Accurately enter prescription drug data into pharmacy operating system
· Processing patient transactions, including ringing up purchases and handling payments
Communication:
· Treats patients, co-workers, and clinic staff in a respectful and confidential manner.
· Able to respond to the requests of patients, co-workers, clinic staff requests in a courteous and timely manner
· Understands and adheres to patient confidentiality practices and procedures, and will hold themselves accountable to ensuring patient privacy
Regulatory / Record Compliance:
· Engages in quality assurance activities to support specialty pharmacy operations and patient care
· Accurately document required information in an efficient and timely manner to support seamless patient care and with adherence specialty pharmacy regulation and compliance
Other Duties as Assigned:
· Performs other clinical and pharmacy duties as assigned to accommodate reasonable needs of the patients and the department provided duties to meet practice norms and legal regulations/standards
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
Requirements:
High School Diploma or GED
Tennessee state Pharmacy Technician licensure in good standing
Pharmacy Technician Certification (PTCB or equivalent) in good standing
Strong knowledge of pharmacy calculations and sig codes, and commonly prescribed medications
Minimum of 1 year of experience in a specialty pharmacy setting
Minimum of 2 years of experience in any of the follow settings: retail pharmacy, hospital pharmacy, or pharmacy call center
Basic knowledge and navigational skills of Microsoft Office programs (Microsoft Teams, Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.)
Strong problem-solving and investigative skills
Strong customer service and verbal and written communication skills
Desired Experience:
Proficiency in navigating TherigySTM specialty pharmacy management software highly preferred
Proficiency in eClinicalWorks highly preferred
Proficiency in PioneerRx pharmacy software highly preferred
Proficiency in navigating prior authorization hub CoverMyMeds and experience in prior authorization processing
Previous call center experience preferably in a healthcare and/or pharmacy setting
Preferred Bachelors and/or post graduate degree
5+ years' work experience in a specialty pharmacy setting
5+ years' work experience in a retail pharmacy, hospital pharmacy, or pharmacy call center setting

WORKING CONDITIONS/PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
Work is performed in a structured pharmacy setting. Physical demands include being required to walk throughout the clinic, pharmacy, lifting items up to 20 pounds, experiencing long periods of sitting and standing, and frequent use of computer, keyboard, headset, and phone.
INCLEMENT WEATHER POLICY
In the event of inclement weather, the Specialty Pharmacy Technician may be expected to provide call center and pharmacy support virtually. Appropriate equipment will be provided in order for tasks such as receiving inbound calls, prescription inputting, etc. to be performed remotely.
