    Proficient operating Shell system to produce high quality investment molds as required per customer specifications. Collaborates to maintain shell system and troubleshoots IC Crystal system variations and anomalies to provide technical support to production manufacturing and leadership. Additionally, ensures on time production of investment casting molds to meet the highest quality standards at the lowest possible cost. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Include the following (Other duties may be assigned): Utilizes process knowledge, basic engineering principles, previous experience, and creativity, as necessary to help develop and improve shell system and processes that result in the production of quality molds that conform to customer specifications and desired lead times. Reads and understands engineering procedures to ensure adherence and compliance to approved process. Participates in plant initiatives to support the reduction of scrap and overall casting cost. Initiatives include but not limited to daily production meetings, and participation in cost improvement teams. Performs typical duties of a shell operator (Mold loading/unloading, pot and barrel sander filling, 6S in all areas and system maintenance. Verifies correct slurries and stuccos are loaded into each unit. Understands operation of robot and the resets that coordinate with Crystal system Assures LOTO is performed correctly and continuously as required. Proficient operating all shell manufacturing equipment (Mix /Age slurry equipment, material handling equipment and Completes required manufacturing documentation of department (Daily Turnover Report, Mercury Logs, etc.) Collaborates to improve ergonomics and safety conditions of assigned areas. Wears all required personal protective equipment and ensures personal protective equipment is available and in good condition. Supports training of new operators and process changes. Reports out molds not in compliance with engineering specifications (Gold tag molds). Identify opportunities to reduce scrap and process variation. Maintains a clean, orderly and safe work area. QUALIFICATIONS To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios and proportions to practical situations. REASONING ABILITY Ability to define problems, collect data, root cause analysis, establish facts and draw valid conclusions. OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES Must be computer literate. Intermediate proficiency of Microsoft Office applications including Excel, PowerPoint and Word. Demonstrated troubleshooting skills and techniques. Ability to operate or be trained to operate a fork lift truck. Organized, with a solid understanding of 5S methodology. OTHER QUALIFICATIONS In accordance with ITAR regulations, position requires US citizen or Permanent Resident status. PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Set up and operate CNC machines under the direction of supervisors Load and perform simple edits of program if required Inspect and measure parts to ensure specifications are met Blending of surfaces and applying or removing excess material with hand tools or machinery Set-up and use of various machines, fixtures and tools. Part modification to specifications. Must follow production specifications regarding assembly of new manufactured parts. Use of tracking systems Ensure compliance with Quality Control Manual (QCM). Performing other tasks in the facility as needed QUALIFICATIONS: High School diploma or equivalent Passing grade on job related test Must be able to communicate, read, and write in English. Must be able to follow oral and written instructions. Ability to use handheld measuring tools. Ability to work effectively individually or as part of a team.
