Position Overview
We currently have a position available for a CivilEngineer I - Water/ Wastewater in our Kenosha, WI office. The selected candidate will assist with the planning, design and construction phase services for a wide variety of civilengineering projects with a focus on wastewater and potable water.
Key Responsibilities
Assists with the planning and design of upgrades and expansions for water/wastewater treatment facilities, pump stations, lift stations, sanitary sewers and water distribution systems.
Performs field data collection and condition assessments and provides on-site services during construction and startup.
Contributes to studies and reports on water and wastewater treatment processes and alternatives.
Applies engineering principals to develop solutions and evaluate performance and life cycle cost of municipal infrastructure improvements.
Creates drawings and models following the company's design standards and utilizing the designated CAD or modeling software with limited guidance.
Assists with the preparation of technical reports, plans, specifications, and supporting documents.
Requirements
B.S. degree in Civil/Environmental Engineering, M.S. degree is preferred. EIT is desired.
Coursework and experience (internship or co-op) with emphasis on one or more of the following areas: wastewater treatment, water distribution, water treatment, or hydraulic modeling.
Ability to accurately perform calculations to support detailed design recommendations.
Good communication skills with the ability to write technical reports and actively participate in project meetings.
Ability to collaborate effectively with other team members from multiple offices.
Experience with AutoCAD (Civil3D), Revit, InfoWater, Biowin and/or GIS is desired.
Valid driver's license is required.

Internship Overview
Clark Dietz internships provide a great opportunity to apply academic learning to real world engineering projects through hands on experience. Interns also participate in group activities throughout the summer to learn about the engineering profession, technical areas, and career paths.

Requirements
Bachelor's degree in CivilEngineering or a related field from an ABET-accredited program.
Experience or coursework related to site development, grading, and utilities.
Proficiency with AutoCAD Civil 3D (or a strong interest in developing expertise).
Internship or co-op experience in site design or land development strongly preferred.
Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification or ability to obtain within 12 months preferred.
Strong communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills.

Key Responsibilities:
Design and management of treatment, wastewater collection, and water system conveyance facilities.
Prepare grant applications, facility plans, and coordinate with private and public stakeholders to secure project funding specifically for small and medium sized systems.
Ability to assist on water resources and resiliency aspects of multi-disciplinary projects for integrated water resources planning and watershed master planning.
Design improvements to wastewater treatment facilities to meet environmental regulations. These include wastewater lagoons, package plants, biological and mechanical treatment processes.
Mentor and develop engineering team members, specifically in environmental and wastewater engineering.
Managing water, wastewater, and reclaimed water supply through planning, modeling and permitting.
Be a key point of contact with clients, contractors, and local government officials.
Work collaboratively with CDI managers, and other Project Engineers to develop effective solutions.
Requirements
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Proficiency in XPSWMM, WaterGEMS, SewerGEMS and WaterCAD.
Proficiency with AutoCAD Civil 3D.
Experience with HECRAS, HECHMS, PondPak, HY-8.
Experience with GeoPAK Drainage.
Knowledge with preparation and review of Engineering Plans and Specifications to ensure that all aspects of project implementation are clearly conveyed.
Experience with hydrologic, hydraulic, and groundwater software.
Experienced in working with both governmental, and private clients in Missouri, Kentucky, and/or Illinois.
Education and Experience
Bachelor's degree in Civil/Environmental Engineering from a four-year college or university.
5-10+ years' experience.
Professional Engineer (PE), licensed in Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky or Missouri with design experience with a focus on water resources.
This role can be based out of the any of the CDI locations. The travel expected is up to 10%.
