What you'll do
Lead group classes (boxing, kickboxing, HIIT, technical conditioning) that are safe, challenging, and fun
Run Smart Starts / movement checks and support members before/after class
Build and maintain your training client base and support EP promotions/special events
Keep class records, schedules, and studio tidy - replace equipment and report issues
Track hours and follow payroll/substitution procedures; attend mandatory meetings and trainings
Represent the club with professionalism and respond to member needs promptly
What we're looking for:
Minimum 1 Year instructing groups of 6+ (varied levels)
CPR/AED certification (required)
Combat background preferred - 5+ amateur fights or equivalent experience a plus
Martial arts ranking (purple belt) or similar skill preferred
Friendly coach with great communication, sales instincts, and a strong work ethic

Under the direction of the Economic Empowerment Program Manager, the Economic Empowerment Coach will provide direct services to low/moderate-income individuals seeking employment and financial counseling services. Primary responsibilities include job development, job placement and assisting clients in developing plans of action that are intended to help the client reach their goals and achieve financial stability. The Economic Empowerment Coach will cultivate relationships with employers and with employment-related community resources, including private employment agencies and the Georgia Department of Labor, private and public agencies, and financial institutions as a means of developing resources to best serve clients. Responsibilities include client recruitment, assessment, and enrollment; financial coaching and career counseling; job development; job placement; resource development; report writing, data management, and case file monitoring. In accordance with the Christian principles of the YMCA, the Head Swim Coach will coordinate and maintain the operation of the swim team program. The swim coach will direct organized and enjoyable training and practice sessions that lead the swimmers through skills mastery and which provide competitive challenges through swim-meet participation while maximizing the personal safety of each swimmer. These duties will be performed while practicing the YMCA Core Values of Caring, Honesty, Respect, and Responsibility.
Job Requirements:
Develop and maintain a competitive youth swim program.
Direct and supervise swimmers & assistant coaches.
Direct swim instruction that is tailored to the needs and abilities of individual swimmers.
Direct, instruct, model proper routines as they relate to work out and warm-up procedures; shallow water entries and racing starts; etc.
Provide direct supervision of swimmers at all times.
Effectively communicate and educate swimmers on risk factors in the sport.
Ensure fair practice and swim-meet experiences that relate to each athlete's ability and experience.
Maintain safety around the pool deck at all times.
Remain alert and aware of potential hazards in and around practice and swim meet areas.
Present a professional appearance through your appropriate uniform, personal grooming, and attitude (positive and helpful).
Assist the Aquatics Director in implementing a comprehensive aquatics program that combines instruction/fitness/competitive segments of aquatics.
Agree to promote all YMCA aquatics programs.
Recruit swimmers for constant and continued team growth.
Care for and maintain all equipment used by the YMCA.
Put all equipment back in the appropriate place after use.
Maintain a positive relationship with participants and parents.
Attend all training sessions unless excused by the Aquatics Director.
Perform any duties as assigned by the Aquatics Director.

Communicate effectively with swimmers.
Provide current information on practices and scheduled swim meets.
Coordinate events to celebrate swim team participation and recognition for team and individual accomplishments.

Team Responsibilities:
Maintain the self-esteem of your swimmers.
Provide the Aquatics Director with constructive input regarding customer feedback, suggestions for improved procedures, or other ideas/comments.
Be punctual for scheduled practices and swim meets.
Attend appointments and meetings as requested by the Aquatics Director and notify the Aquatics Director adequately if you are late or absent.
Maintain regular and predictable attendance.
Work in a constant state of alertness.
Ability to work cooperatively with supervisors, co-workers, members, non-members, etc.
Employees and volunteers who directly supervise children and teens will:
Adhere to policies related to boundaries with children and teens
Attend required abuse risk management training annually
Adhere to procedures for managing high-risk activities and supervising children and teens.
Report suspicious or inappropriate behaviors and policy violations.
Follow mandated abuse reporting requirements.
Qualifications
Entry Requirements:
Mature, dependable, and have a proven aquatic background.
Must be 18 years of age or older.
Able to lift and carry 50 pounds
Must be knowledgeable in all areas of coaching, coaching staff supervision, and rules pertaining to the ongoing eligibility of the team and swimmers for the different leagues in which the team participates. (Ex. YMCA League; USA Swimming, etc.)
He/she must have current CPR/AED and First Aid certifications, and lifeguard certification is preferred.
Minimum Qualifications:
Successful experience as a Swim Team Coach.

Is responsible for cooking food to correct internal temperatures and complying with all health department safety standards.
May require travel between food service facilities: Heritage Park, Field of Miracles, Football (West Elementary), and/or Cullman Wellness and Aquatic Center.
Required to work at any CPRST food service facility when called upon.
Follows assigned dress code.
Acts as a team member with other Parks and Recreation staff, embracing and supporting the vision and mission of the CPRST Board of Directors and the City of Cullman.
Exhibits a high level of professionalism and ethics working, amicably with the Park Board, the Executive Director, Administrators, Personnel, and Community.
Exhibits proficiency in written and oral communication.
Works hours vary, which will likely include nights and weekends, with hours varying based on time of year, events, and projects.
Attends all meetings as requested by supervisors.
Performs other duties as assigned by supervisors.
Working Environment:
The work area is well lighted, ventilated, and heated. Occasionally work is outdoors where there is a potential to be exposed to various weather conditions.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
Work is performed both inside and outside and requires the physical and mental ability to operate a motor vehicle, grounds maintenance equipment, and computer. Work also requires working around heights, heavy lifting, and the ability to climb, stand, bend, and sit while performing various job duties.Must be able to routinely lift forty-five pounds of weight without assistance.
