JOB SUMMARY:
Under the supervision of the Early Education Coordinator, the Early Childhood Coach is responsible for providing high-quality coaching, guided reflection, and training and technical assistance to Head Start teachers on best practices related to early learning and supporting school readiness and the social-emotional development in compliance with Head Start Program Performance Standards.
JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Ensures teachers utilize the curriculum to fidelity and make use of assessment data to provide developmentally appropriate practices for young children. Improve instructional outcomes as measured by CLASS scores and Work Sampling Assessment.
Obtains and maintains CLASS certification.
Identifies strategies for improving teacher-child interaction and provides coaching to teachers to implement strategies.
Works collaboratively with the Center Managers and Early Education coordinator to identify improvement areas to impact ongoing monitoring and best practices for education staff.
Regularly reviews data with teachers and support the capacity building of teachers to analyze data to inform and improve outcomes for students.
Assesses individuals, sets specific goals, develops training programs to meet identified needs and evaluates the effectiveness of implemented programs.
Develops specific staff development goals and training programs for Head Start staff.
Assess the effectiveness of training utilizing a variety of sources.
Mentors new education staff.
Accurately completes required program documentation and record keeping.
Meets on a regular basis with Early Education Coordinator.
Complete other duties, as assigned, to ensure program quality and effectiveness.
Assist in classrooms where there are high needs, such as social and emotional concerns, response to trauma, and behavior concerns.
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
Strong, effective written, verbal, communication, and organizational skills.
Ability to coach and mentor adult learners.
Ability to establish supportive relationships with staff and families from diverse backgrounds.
Ability to read, analyze and use data for planning.
Ability to work within a team environment as a cooperative and supportive team member.
Must have a valid NYS Driver's License and have access to a reliable vehicle for travel throughout Oswego County.
Must have knowledge of public services and resources.
Must become familiar with the Performance Standards of Head Start, Child Outcomes Framework, and OCFS Regulations.
Must have acceptable physical and mental health to carry out the responsibilities of the position including lifting and participating in activities with children at their level.
Must complete CLASS training, receive reliability certification and maintain reliability status.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor's Degree Early Childhood Education or related field with 12 credits in Early Childhood Education.

Provide ongoing, sustained coaching and support to assigned educators, including weekly visits, coaching cycles, and professional development:

QUALIFICATIONS:
· Must be a current SCSD Teacher
· Holds current professional or permanent New York State teacher certification
· Receipt of Highly Effective or Effective ratings for two consecutive years
· Has experience in developing and implementing professional development programs or working with others to provide timely, directed feedback
SALARY/SALARY RANGE:
The current starting salary for SCSD Teachers is $53,000. With proof of outside related experience and college transcripts, the salary will be increased pursuant to the Unit 1 contractual agreement.
Teachers will have opportunities to teach in our Summer School Programs, receiving an hourly rate of $42.69.

This position will require daily and/or weekly duties and which require exercising discretion and independent judgment consisting of 60% instructional and 40% recruitment/administrative activities.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Job duties specific to this position:
Coaching and Team Development
Assess, implement and evaluate strategies that enhances team and individual performance.
Provide timely and constructive individualized feedback for student-athlete improvement.
Prepare individuals and the team for competition, focused on high-level performance and sportsmanship.
Create a competitive playing schedule that includes in region non-conference opponents while balancing home and away contests.
NCAA Compliance
Conduct program in compliance with all applicable NCAA, conference, and institutional policies, rules and regulations.

Strategically award and monitor all athletic grants in aid in your sport program to best leverage academic progress rate (APR).
Enrollment Management
Assist leading and supporting the College Enrollment Management priorities through partnership, participation, and meeting goals with Enrollment Management initiatives.
Identify, recruit and retain athletically and academically talented prospective student athletes who will embrace the core values of Le Moyne College athletics.
Assist the department with its gender equity planning and the satisfaction of all Title IX legislation by striving to attain goals related to any applicable enrollment management initiatives within your particular program.
Promote and offer available experiential learning/internship/work study opportunities to incoming prospects and/or general students, which are developed and managed either by the department or through your program.
Respond to all requests for information from prospective student-athletes, coaches, parents, and/or friends of prospective student-athletes.
Solicit information from and distribute information to eligible prospective student-athletes and coaches and or parents or friends of prospective student-athletes.
Develop and distribute appropriate recruiting materials, publications and information to interested prospective student-athletes.
Follow up with appropriate offers of scholarships in a timely manner.

Sports Performance
Submit all paperwork, schedule meetings and respond to all information requests from athletic trainers and team physicians according to guidelines and deadlines established by the Head Athletic Trainer.
All decisions regarding the health and safety of student athletes when it comes to physical participation is at the discretion of the Head Athletic Trainer.
Coordinate with the Peak Performance Team (Strength and Conditioning, Sports Medicine, Nutrition, Mental Health) on the conduct of a comprehensive training program to enhance both personal and performance growth/development.
Sports Information
Respond to all information requests and work with the media, etc. according to guidelines and deadlines established by the Assistant Athletic Director for Sports Information, Marketing and Promotions.
Always inform the Assistant Director when you or any of your athletes has been contacted by the media.
Fund Raising
Head Coaches are expected to fully understand and support the College's policies and procedures, along with any departmental guidelines, for all fund-raising activities. Particular attention should be given to NCAA legislation surrounding booster groups and donors.
Reconciliation of all revenues and deposits should be handled in accordance with institutional and departmental policy.
Head Coaches are expected to be fully support the Dolphin Athletic Association and its programming to engage key stakeholder groups of their respective program such as alumni and families/friends
Community Service
A commitment to community services is an important tenant of the College's mission and to that end it is anticipated that employees will be involved in various community activities as a representative of the Le Moyne College Athletics Department.
Identify and cultivate a community partnership with a service-based organization to provide an impactful service experience for your student-athletes.
Supervision and Evaluation of Assistant Coaches by Head Coaches
Head Coaches are responsible for the supervision and evaluation of each assistant coach involved with your program.
Keep assistant coaches informed of all applicable rules, regulations, deadlines, meetings and/or other policies.
All staff members (including volunteers) must satisfy the hiring guidelines of the Department prior to assuming their respective duties, and must pass the NCAA Division I Modules each year.
Professional Development
Opportunities to maintain and advance current understandings of techniques, strategies, theories, and regulations as they relate to the athletics industry are essential. Attendance and participation in conferences is strongly encouraged.
Supervisory Relationships
For purpose of performance evaluations and most other official duties, the first level of contact for the Head Coach is with Sports Administrator. Appeals of decisions are to be taken to the AVP/Athletic Director.
Functional Relationships/Secondary Sources:
All coaches are expected to work cooperatively with all members of the Athletic Department (Administrators, Support Staff, Colleagues), and any other campus (admissions, housing, financial aid, maintenance, etc), or community office/agency that you might be involved with.
