General:

Duties and Responsibilities:
* Has a thorough knowledge of the Athletic Policy approved by the Florence Unified Governing Board of Education.
* Has knowledge of existing system AIA Divisions and Section regulations.
* Understands the proper administrative line of command and refers all requests or grievances through proper channels.
* Provides support to the vision and mission of the FUSD. Supports all other academic and athletic programs.
* Understands that it is unethical and unprofessional to degrade, criticize, and refuse to support or tamper with another coach's program. Coaches are expected to support other coaches.
* Is aware of all public/staff/departmental meetings that require attendance.
Staff Responsibilities:
* Establishes the fundamental philosophy, skills and techniques to be taught by staff.
* Maintains discipline, adjusts grievances and works to increase morale and cooperation.
Student Responsibilities:
* Provides training rules and any other unique regulations of the sport to each athlete who is considered a participant. Inform your athletes at the beginning of each season of your special training rules with their consequences and post these for all to see. Send a copy to the A.D. office.
* Gives constant attention to a student athlete's grades and conduct.
* By his/her presence at all practices, games and while traveling, provides assistance, guidance and safeguards for each participant.
* Initiates programs and policies concerning injuries, medical attention and emergencies.
* Completes paperwork on all disabling athletic injuries on the proper forms and submits to the athletic office within 24 hours.
* Directs student managers, assistants and statisticians.
* Determines discipline, delineates procedures concerning due process when the enforcement of discipline is necessary and contacts parents when a student is dropped or becomes ineligible.
* Assists athletes in their college or advanced educational selection.
* Operates through the A.D.'s office for early dismissal PRIOR to trips.
* Keeps pertinent and accurate statistics of individual athletes and teams as necessary for school and state records.
* Compiles the season records, final team rosters and team/individual achievements at the end of their respective seasons. Forms are available in the A.D.'s office.
* Immediately reports AIA and HS rule violations to the Athletic Director.
* Supplies the A.D.'s office with an accurate number of athletes traveling on meal trips no later than 3:00 p.m. on Monday during the course of the season. Failure to do so may result in insufficient or no funds for meals. Head coach is responsible to explain the predicament to unhappy parents.
* Immediately returns any and all meal and motel receipts to the A.D.'s secretary.
* Evaluates AIA officials for all games; not just the contests that you feel are poorly officiated. Do not complain about "poor officiating" if you are not consistently doing evaluations of all officials. Make a copy of your evaluations and send them to the A.D,'s office. Mail your evaluations directly to the AIA office.
* Keep the Emergency Consent to treat forms with the team at all times, especially when you travel.
Finance and Equipment:
* Participates in the budgeting function with the A.D. by establishing requirements for the next season. Recommends equipment guidelines as to type, style, color or technical specifications. Is responsible for operating within budget appropriations.
* Is accountable for all equipment and collects the cost of any equipment lost or not returned, Compiles a list of those athletes that have not turned in equipment and submits it to the A.D. Athlete is not allowed to participate in the next sport until restitution is made. Arranges for issuing, storing and reconditioning of equipment and submits annual inventory and current records concerning same.
* Properly marks and identifies all equipment before issuing or storing.
* Monitors equipment rooms and coaches' offices. Authorizes who may enter issue or requisition equipment.
* Permits the athletes to only be in authorized areas of the building at the appropriate times, never leave athletes in the locker room or weight room unsupervised! Never put an athlete in charge of your keys.
* Examines locker rooms before and after practices and games checking on general cleanliness of the facility. Responsible for cleanliness and maintenance of specific sport equipment.
* Secures all doors, lights, windows and locks before leaving the building. This includes staff members that personally use or supervise the use of the weight room.
* Instills in each player a respect of equipment and school property, its care and proper use.
* Provides the A.D. the names of athletes that will be receiving awards in their respective sport. This includes all athletes that will receive a Varsity Certificate and Varsity Letter. Also each sport is allocated three engraved plaques. A.D. must have the names and pertinent information as soon as the season ends.
* Arrange for any and all fund raisers through the Athletic Director.
Public Relations:
* Organizes parents, coaches, players, and guests for preseason meeting.
* Promotes the sport within the school through recruiting athletes that are not in another sports program and promotes the sport outside the school through news media, Little League programs, Middle School programs, or in any other feasible manner.
* Responsible for the quality, effectiveness and validity of any oral or written release to local media. at no time will a coach use the media to criticize any school administrator, school team, coach, player, game official or the AIA.
* Responsible for maintaining good public relations with news media, Booster Club, parents, officials, volunteers, and fans.
* Presents information to news media concerning schedules, tournaments and results.
* Makes press releases for the Florence Blade-Reminder and school announcements.

Establish, as appropriate and with appropriate consents, a relationship with family members, natural support, and care providers of the individual receiving services.
As appropriate, and with consent, coordinate with family members, medical providers, probation, DCS, and other agencies for information related to the individual's behavioral health needs.
Facilitates Child and Family Team meetings or Adult Recovery Team meetings for ongoing assessment of the progress and needs of the individual.
Interact with all components of the behavioral health delivery system, the primary care physician, and other members of the child and family or recovery team.
Obtain appropriate prior authorization of inpatient, partial hospitalization, residential and other services that require prior authorization.
May facilitate coordination between the behavioral health system and Pima County Jail, Arizona State Hospital, level I & II facilities, detoxification facilities, and crisis centers.
Coordinates, or provides directly, transportation as needed to medically necessary behavioral health or medical services (for integrated care members).
Documents all interactions and services provided in progress notes in the electronic health record.
Assist in identifying third party liability.
Coordinate all care and services required to enhance and facilitate the optimal physical and behavioral health wellness of persons served within a trauma-informed care framework. This includes: 1) facilitating communication between medical and behavioral health practitioners/systems; 2) assisting with scheduling of and compliance with preventative and specialty physical health interventions; 3) integrating treatment interventions to address both the physical and behavioral health needs of the person/family concurrently; 4) assist persons/families served with education and resources outlining the interplay of physical and behavioral health issues on overall wellness and quality of life.

The coach will be responsible for developing student-athletes in strength sports, fostering a culture of discipline and teamwork, and representing the Spartan athletic tradition with integrity and excellence.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Prior coaching or competitive experience in weightlifting and/or powerlifting (required).
Strong understanding of strength training, programming, and athlete development.
Ability to motivate and mentor high school athletes in both sport and academics.
Current CPR/First Aid certification (or ability to obtain before season).
Teaching certificate or NFHS Coaching Certification preferred.
CSCS, USA Weightlifting or USAPL/USPA coaching certification is a plus.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Design and implement training programs for both Olympic Weightlifting and Powerlifting athletes.
Teach proper lifting technique, safety, and spotting protocols.
Organize and lead daily practices, strength sessions, and competition preparation.
Develop athletes of all skill levels, from beginners to competitive lifters.
Promote academic achievement, sportsmanship, and character development.
Coordinate with Athletic Director regarding scheduling, meets, and team needs.
Maintain equipment and ensure a safe training environment.
Communicate regularly with athletes, parents, and school administration.

The Youth Cheer Coach position involves working mostly with children aged 5-12 years old, teaching them the fundamentals of cheerleading while incorporating fun games and educational content. This role is perfect for individuals who enjoy working with kids and fostering a positive and energetic environment.
This position is ideal for part-time workers, college students, as well as anyone with a flexible schedule and a love for cheerleading! Training will be provided, and no previous coaching experience is required.
